Currently in the middle of making arrangements to meet - he's a breed rescue - and yet to check over the house for 'breakability' issues etc. (He's only young - and it's a good few years since I had a cat that could potentially leap living with me.)

Yikes!!

Well his food has gone - as have two 'treats' I left lying near his water bowl. He's still alive. Smile

In my head you now have the voice of Attenborough. Much gravitas! Grin

PosiePootlePerkins · 09/07/2017 18:48

Yay! Good newsSmile

Lanaorana2 · 09/07/2017 19:35

Grin Dr Cozie, I presume...

You need a solar topee, binoculars, baggy shorts and socks pulled up to your knees for the next couple of days.

Mr C has been adorable and kipped on my bottom all night. Glorious jazz on England's oldest bandstand in the park this pm, families flat out on grass, rumours of feral ginger kittens on the bowling green.

You told him off. I think cats secretly like that from their 'person'. (As long as it's only occasional.) Smile

....couple of days....??

My DBro, who ostensibly came to see me, was musing on how long it took Seniorboy to adjust.

Me - 'About a month wasn't it?'

DBro - 'God, Aye - and the rest.'

He will get there cozie it's early days. He's eating, drinking and using the tray. Maybe let him have a hidey hole for a while without trying to find him every time? If you don't see him all day, then obviously look, but otherwise let him do some surreptitious observing? I don't have Siamese experience, but I have had to be very hands off with moggies in the past while they get used to the change in circumstances.Smile

cozietoesie · 09/07/2017 20:28

I'm being hands-off as best I can. Tomorrow, his activity centre cum scratching post thingy arrives so I may have to turn to Gin to assemble it. (Inclusive of hidey hole house and hammock!)

Weedsnseeds1 · 09/07/2017 20:45

Make sure you install the CCTV in the climbing frame!

cozietoesie · 09/07/2017 20:48

Weeds

From the look of the thing, it's going to take me.......some time to assemble the basics. CCTV installation is too much for me! Grin

I'm afraid that DBro's visit seems to have set the lad back a little. (He wanted Newboy to respond to him so went looking for him when he already knew where he was - to talk to him.) We'll have to see how tomorrow goes. (The new things.)

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/07/2017 08:44

Naturally you'll be going no contact now?.

Would zylkene help him? It works on asbo & he's properly highly strung.

cozietoesie · 10/07/2017 11:48

I think no Zylkene. Yet, anyway.

I have hopes that he'll get over this after a while. It may just take a bit of time. We'll see how this benighted activity centre thingy goes down when it arrives this afternoon.

Looks like Xmas is off for Dbro Grin.No coziecooking for him. He'll be gutted GrinGrin I feel really really sorry for him GrinGrinGrin

Brothers are always tactless, it's the law. First time I skyped mine with Mr C:

Me: Look at him!
Bro: CHRIST HE'S SO FAT
Me: No no he's a v long cat
Bro: GOR WOT A BLOATER.
SIL: HE IS HUGE how can you afford to feed him
BRO sings t-rex music in Jurassic park
etc.

They're v naughty and silly, that's why nature gave them sisters. Grin

chemenger · 10/07/2017 12:39

My DB, on hearing about my foster cat's random biting problem decided that it would be a good idea to wind her up by making a scraping noise on the sofa with his nails. It turns out that not only does she bite when you least expect it but she also bites when you wind her up. "Ha Ha" he said until he noticed the blood. She bites hard with tiny, but very sharp, teeth. No sympathy was expressed.

cozietoesie · 10/07/2017 13:08

The activity centre has just arrived. I've lugged it upstairs and now the box is sitting looking at me.

I may need Gin. Grin

I hope you're prepared for him to sniff it in disgust and skulk off Grin
My cat tree went to a rescue after Ollie claimed to have vertigo Hmm

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/07/2017 13:15

How enticing is the box?

cozietoesie · 10/07/2017 13:17

And you chose to believe him? Grin

I'd already given all Seniorboy's stored food and litter to a rescue. Only a few days before .Newboy arrived. My cc is now back to whimpering in the corner again. Wink

It looks boring to me, Yet. But who am I to judge these things. Grin

OP posts:
RubbishMantra · 10/07/2017 13:36

Oh yes, the inevitable ignoring of the cat gym after you have painstakingly assembled it.... until you make arrangements to donate it to local cat shelter. Cat, after 6 months of ignoring it decides it's the Bestest Thing Ever.

cozietoesie · 10/07/2017 13:51

Dear Goodness. I've now opened the box and found the Bedeinungsanleitung. Gin will definitely be required.

OP posts:
chemenger · 10/07/2017 13:58

Just take ll the bits out and give the box to Newboy, its probably what he wants anyway Smile.

We once constructed a sort of playhouse in a big cardboard box with platforms and holes to see out when we had a pair of young cats. They loved it. I well remember a friend sticking his finger in one of the smaller holes to find out what would happen - what happened was a set of kitten teeth.

RubbishMantra · 10/07/2017 13:59

Oh no! If you don't speak German, try googling the make and model for English instructions - I successfully did that for a garden shed.
