Currently in the middle of making arrangements to meet - he's a breed rescue - and yet to check over the house for 'breakability' issues etc. (He's only young - and it's a good few years since I had a cat that could potentially leap living with me.)

Yikes!!

Owners? You jest. Slaves????

cozietoesie · 08/07/2017 14:24

It's this 6 month thing. Many people still believe that that's the time for neutering - including many vets.

I always remember that Oneago's litter brother sired a litter at 5 months to the apparent consternation of his breeder. I reckon that some Siamese - and possibly Orientals - come into season earlier than other cats might. It's the month or two that does it. Grin

Our first horse was pregnant when we got her. There was some speculation about which of 2 entire males had got to her - the result proved it wasn't the adult pony but the 5 month old thoroughbred that was out with his mother in the same field, not yet weaned!

Lanaorana2 · 08/07/2017 17:38

Have we had visual today?

cozietoesie · 08/07/2017 17:55

I lost him after lunch. Then, went out to bring in some washing and a neighbour said from their garden 'See you have a new chum? ' (or words to that effect.) Turns out he's in the upstairs window sandwiched between the curtain and the glass. (Soaking up the rays. Wink) 'Really?' said I?

Ha. Grin

Little Tinker Grin.

This reminded me of when Frankie was 6 months old. It was November and his first firework night. Other cat and dog hiding under the dining table. I could NOT find Frankie anywhere. Started to panic, as you do, thinking he'd got out but knowing that he really hadn't. I eventually found him sat on our bedroom window sill behind the curtain staring in awe at the fireworks and pawing at the window trying to 'catch' them Smile.

cozietoesie · 08/07/2017 18:33

He's back in 'his cupboard' now - with his tea. (Thinks I don't know about the curtain trick. Wink)

Flippin' 'eck cozie. Have a word with him! I'm like an expectant Auntie here Grin.

cozietoesie · 08/07/2017 19:00

Well I went back to the cupboard and he's gone again! Grin

OOO! the tension is ramping up for us all at this end....little prince is still a little bit nervous, tho'.

He appears to be eating like a horse and enjoying the local sights with a robust sense of purpose, however. :)

cozietoesie · 08/07/2017 19:04

He's eating fine certainly. Trying to think of ways to outwit me as well, I reckon. I'd forgotten what it was like to have a really brainy lad! Smile

HemanOrSheRa · 08/07/2017 19:28

I honestly can't bear the tension Grin.

Lanaorana2 · 08/07/2017 20:18

Seniorboy was nobody's fool - he knew what he liked and made sure you knew it some time ago. :)

Newboy is working out the best training approach as I type. He's probably made a lot of notes in code on the back of that curtain. :)

cozietoesie · 08/07/2017 20:48

He's disappeared again. I shall have to go a-searching.

I'm sure that when he has the place sussed out to his satisfaction, he'll appear like the lord of the manor. He will graciously deign to accept his subject's offerings.

cozietoesie · 08/07/2017 21:08

I hope so. I suspect that at the moment, this place is just all sorts of wrong to him. He's eating and using his tray which is good but it may be a long haul. Basically, he has to change his bonding - for a Siamese, that's HUGE.

PosiePootlePerkins · 09/07/2017 17:20

How are things today cozie? Any sign of the elusive one?

cozietoesie · 09/07/2017 17:36

Not really. He found a new hiding place - briefly - but has now found an even better one it seems. (I.e. - I've lost him.)

He's eating well and using his tray, though.

cozie , my cat was one of 60 removed from one house. Now that's seriously inattentive ( although I imagine the kittens and grandkittens joined in with the procreating rather than it being the work of one tom)!
Looking forward to seeing the grand reveal Smile

Wolfiefan · 09/07/2017 17:42

60? Argh. The fleas. (No way would they flea treat 60! Bad enough feeding that many. Must've been grim.)
Good luck finding new hiding place Cozie. You just have to think like a Siamese! Grin

cozietoesie · 09/07/2017 17:46

He's out and noshing his tea now. (I can hear the little bowl moving on the wooden floor.) I have no idea where he's been. Smile

Wolfiefan · 09/07/2017 17:52

This is like a nature show. "Here is the lesser spotted newcat. Well it would be but we can't find him. Here's what we do know..."

You need to set a camera trap, a la World About Us, or Planet Earth!

Wolfiefan · 09/07/2017 18:06

I'm now hearing a voice off Springwatch or Attenborough himself "we will be straight back if we have any sightings"
