I've found a puppy in a plastic bag

During a walk with my lab. It's looks like a poodle cross and go actually be in good condition.

I've called the vets and taking then in later. My next door neighbour has a microchip scanned and it's not chipped. No collar. Doesn't look to be in poor condition though.

Apart from the vets, what do I do?

I've fallen in love already!

Dog theft is rising but you would expect it to be chipped at least. I would keep it assuming it is fit and well.

Keep him calm warm and quiet for now
I think I might post giving no details of the dog to see if anyone comes forward, but ask them for specific details in case he's been stolen

At least puppy is alive, unlike the ones I keep seeing that have been thrown from a vehicle into a busy road. I need to find out what the road is called so I can report it.

It's probably the last one from its litter and didn't sell. Lots of people are having trouble selling puppies atm. Glad you found him and he's well.

I only ever find cats and kittens and I'm not a cat person. It's happened twice now. One was behind when our neighbors moved and DD brought it inside. We gave it to my uncle. One was left outside my workplace with a cat carrier, food, toys, and a bed. We gave that one to my Gran's neighbor where it lives a life fit for royalty.
