Help!
Went to walk dogs at Alderly edge . Our sons beagle has run off . A farmer had his shot gun out somewhere miles away and it's spooked her.
Spent 3 hours looking for her but have had to come home with the grandkids
Can anyone help either with vets numbers or Facebook
I'm not on Facebook
Grandkids are so upset and so am I tbh
We live 20 mins away in the car so are going back after kids are fed

So traps set last night. Really fucked of that a keyboard 'expert' has been giving us wrong advice all week but that's another story.

Unfortunately the cameras got knocked out by the storm so we were battling across and open field to sort and close the trap as we wouldn't be able to see and the dog would of been trapped all night.

Going back now to open the trap up again

Good luck , hope you get her soon .

Els1e · 27/11/2021 10:40

You’re doing all you can. Hope you find her soon. 🤞

drinkingwineoutofamug · 27/11/2021 10:47

Been back up to open the trap, change the batteries on the cameras which are working. Also scented the area.
My partner and dil saw her yesterday just trotting along the fence line , looked at them and bolted again. It's as if she doesn't want to be caught.

To the poster above it's bindi dog searching people who have helped with the traps, given the correct advice . They have lent us loads of equipment. The lady has been fab.

It was horrible up there last night. The forest was sheltered but on the open field with 60mph winds and a blizzard.
Trees down everywhere. Like a horror story. It's proper Blair witch at night.

Thank you everyone for words of support. We just want the little bugger back. She's like the dog version of Rambo

Oh my goodness - so close yet so far!

At least you know she’s ok, and still in the vicinity.
Really glad to hear you have the support of dog searching professionals.
Good luck and hope she’s back with your family very soon.

drinkingwineoutofamug · 27/11/2021 11:02

@NowNumber5 they couldn't get over the barb wire fence. Bloody national trust.
We are all cut to ribbons

Survival mode is such an awful thing. You want them back so desperately and you they would be happier back home, safe and warm, but their instincts are over-riding their attachment.

I’ve not heard of the bindi dog people, the drone sar folks were golden when the dog in our breed group went missing, so I thought I’d mention them just in case. Sounds like you are in good hands though, there really area some amazing people who give up most of their free time and supply equipment, advice and support in these situations. Unfortunately there are more and more people on FB groups etc who probably mean well, but don’t know enough, then get involved and give wrong advice when it’s best left to experienced experts.

Keeping everything crossed for good news really soon.

Roystonv · 27/11/2021 16:00

Hope you have some good news soon, what awful weather for it to happen in.

drinkingwineoutofamug · 27/11/2021 18:36

Been back to move the trap to another area .
Now she's off national trust land, the private land owners have been really good.
They have no issues with a bunch of randoms roaming around their land .
Offers of warm drinks.
We are taking the night off and another couple are doing the night shift on call !
Just so tired.
Thank you again for support . Been a long week

If you haven't already, put your lost dog's details on www.doglost.co.uk (it is free) for best, most experienced advice, more coverage and possibly doglost people in your area able to help.

userxx · 27/11/2021 21:35

Really hope you find her soon, I've got lost up there and you're right it is proper Blair witch, but loads of places to shelter. Got everything crossed for you.

@Floralnomad

Any news *@drinkingwineoutofamug*
Been up this morning to change the power banks for the cameras and WiFi. Put more food scent down. And leaves in the bottom of the crate/trap. We stink of a mixture of oxo cubes and fish with a dash of 4 day old sausages. Tasty. Walked around the field and back down the roads she has been sighted. It's snowing here . The lady from bindi who I'm in contact with as well said not to worry too much as dogs are adaptable. Been told not to go out again today or tonight. The dog catchers are going out this afternoon and someone more local who also works with the charity has taken over camera watch

Oh dear , I hope you get her soon especially with the awful weather in that part of the country , we will continue to keep everything crossed here .

drinkingwineoutofamug · 28/11/2021 13:09

I'm so cold to the bones and tired it's unbelievable.
Snow is sticking.
I've read how dogs without their owners go into feral mode.
Another dog has gone rogue round here. A cockapoo. It's gone off on a mission.
Don't think I will ever let my dog off her lead again.
My dog has pee'd everywhere as well and as they are best friends that get excited over the mention of each other's names hoping it's a plus point
