Which dog stops you in your tracks?

Like if you're out and you see a dog - what dog would make you stop and stare?

For me it's a pure black or pure white standard poodle properly clipped out. I think they're gorgeous.

Any well-trained working dog doing its thing. A little while ago I watched a collie get some sheep through a gate, over a lane and through another gate.

Agreed. I love it when our Labrador does his typical Labrador one paw in the air and tail pointing straight out to show he’s focussed on something 🥰 especially when he first did it as a tiny puppy, so intuitive.

I also love when sheepdogs want to say hello to us and lie down and crawl towards us.

Dalmatians!! I just love them!

But also Huskies, GSDs, Bernese Mountain dogs and Scottish Terriers.

I love all dogs so any would make me stop and stare!

Although I live Dalmatians and Akita’s so I’d pay them more attention.

I also love mongrels and would probably be more interested as they’re usually all different.

Cavalier King Charles spaniels for me. I had one and would love another. I currently have a Frenchie so always stop to speak to them and their owners now.

She gets a lot of attention when we’re out . We’ve recently met another lady with two and they’re completely batty when they meet .

Greyhounds in full flight , and watching police dogs do their thing always makes me stop and watch . So impressive .

Any giant breed: Newfies, st. Bernards, Leonberger (my absolutely favorite breed)

And ofcourse sprollies!..

A golden retriever. I just adore them, so beautiful and majestic. We always try and spot them when we are out and about.

One day in years to come we will have one.

Setters come a close second.

Me too because I have one and have had 3 previously They might look majestic but they are total goofballs

I saw a Rottweiler cross GSD today and he was absolutely stunning. Not two breeds that would normally make me pause but somehow mixed together he was gorgeous

Wire haired fox terriers. I have one and I have been known to cross roads to say hello, even without mine. (Probably best as she’s a grumpy sod)
I’m totally fascinated by two collies in out town, the owners has a little boy about three and they shepherd him along like a little lamb.

German shepherd, but I'm biased as I have one now and was brought up with them. My massive floofster, currently lying with his head on my knee stating adoringly, who barks at leaves if they give him a fright, gets a fright if I move when he's sleeping, is frightened of wee dogs (as they usually bark and nip him) but would protect me with his life.

@plominoagain she’s lovely! I have two as well, two boys. They almost seem to recognise other dalmatians when they see them and don’t act the same as they do with other dogs 😂

My dogs (retrievers) attract a lot of compliments. They are gorgeous though!

Retrievers and rough collies always get my attention.

I stopped mid-run the other day to say hello to the most beautiful French Sheepdog (Briand). Utterly stunning. His name was Freddie.

Boxers (esp Black ones and reds) , pinchers (esp brown) and dalmatians.

Golden retrievers as I have one and just love them. Also admire Finnish lapphunds, Bernese mountain dogs and Newfies.

Any kind of sighthound. There's nothing nicer than a greyhound leaning on your leg for a fussing! Saluki ears are the best as well.

Bernese mountain dogs and springer spaniels.
If I’ve got my toddler in tow, any dog because she loves them !

Fluffy dogs, Pomeranian,to husky, anything in-between those sizes with that soft fur.

Our gorgeous girl gets a lot of attention!
