Poor Steppedog Sad I’ve done that with SquirrelDog when the door has blown shut - he just stands at the catflap looking sad

BiteyShark · 14/04/2018 12:17

I had a proud mum moment today. He was really good at the agility training class and is picking up things quickly and wanting to please.

That's finally made my mind up though to drop the gun dog training as we don't have enough time to practice both and whilst it was great to understand his instincts it's now served its purpose for us. He really wants to please at agility and there is more reward for the both of us when we do it.

That's brill bitey.

Poor GooodDog is a bit bored at the mo as we've been madly cleaning and tidying as having the house valued today and now waiting for estate agent to turn up so not been on a walk yet. Kids are being a pain and restless too. Only another 20 mins to go hopefully. (Although in hindsite maybe it doesn't need to be too tidy as we rent it and want to buy it Wink)

thegirlsallgrowedupnow · 14/04/2018 14:16

That’s great Bitey, I guess he is also pleased to be back to his walks and activities after recent troubles. I am going to keep going with agility for now, cocodog appears to enjoy it but as the trainer says “mum needs to get her SatNav going” I am rubbish😬
Bit of sun, yay...may go out and lie on the grass with her!

YogaDrone · 14/04/2018 14:43

Has steppedog recovered his ordeal today?

I have done that too - she was out for ages and I only noticed because I started making DS' tea and she wasn't under my feet begging for food!

Some wonderful sun today. Hooray! We are taking Yogadog to the woods for a swim in the lake there soon. In the meantime DDog is sunbathing in the back garden Smile

BiteyShark · 14/04/2018 15:09

Ooh Goood will the landlord sell to you or put it on the open market?

thegirls yeah BiteyDog only gets it wrong when I get it wrong Grin

Yoga also loving the sun here.

BiteyDog was helping me weed earlier and now I am sitting enjoying the rest with a beer Grin

Fix owns it but we rent it from him. It needs work doing which he doesn't want to do and I could do but I dont want to unless we own it as would end up paying for it twice really. If too expensive then we might go cheaper or just keep renting it.

GooodMythicalMorning · 14/04/2018 17:08

Fil not fix

BiteyShark · 14/04/2018 19:24

Hope it comes in at a reasonable price Goood

BiteyDog hasn't slept at all today and managed to guilt trip lots of ball play out of us. He's finally crashed out on his bed so hoping for a quiet night Grin

OP posts:
GooodMythicalMorning · 14/04/2018 20:27

As bless. The boy went to sleep at half 6 and has been asleep ever since.

steppemum · 14/04/2018 23:40

I think we made it up to steppedog today.
Glorious weather, and although we were out all morning, this afternoon had back door wide open, and steppedog was loving it, up and own the garden, and up and downa nd up and down.... Grin

Then dd1 and her friend decided to come and walk with me, so we went a long way round, did loads of ball throwing, ended up at the play park, etc etc. Out for 2 hours, one happy exhausted dog this evening.

(the weather seems to have gone to his head though, blooming awful in lead and deaf to all instructions with over excitment)

BiteyShark · 15/04/2018 05:46

So much for a quiet night, BiteyDog was really good but I had a bad stomach so was up all night. Hope he isn't expecting a hectic day today as I think I need to doze Sad

What time does Indy sleep to Goood if he falls asleep that early?

The weather is rubbish again today with heavy rain but looks lovely for next week. Shame I have to work as the forecast shows sun most days.

GooodMythicalMorning · 15/04/2018 13:25

He goes to bed about 8! Out for the count. I dont know if it's age or a bulldog thing but he sleeps a long time overnight.

BiteyShark · 15/04/2018 13:28

Very envious, BiteyDog is a very early riser Sad

PestDog and I have just spent the weekend with about 15 members of my extended family, including 3 primary aged children. All but one was a total stranger to him and he doesn't normally live with children, but he was on his best behaviour all weekend with no major social faux pas (unless you count getting confused over the ownership of a stick a child was holding, which was understandable as mistakes go).

I am VERY proud of him Grin

BiteyShark · 15/04/2018 15:48

Well done PestDog. Bet you are both shattered after that weekend Grin.

We have just done a bit of agility in the garden in between rain showers. Hoping to relax now in front of the tv.

GooodMythicalMorning · 15/04/2018 16:23

That's brilliant Smile

noitsnotteatimeyet · 15/04/2018 18:14

Poor teatimetoller is feeling Very Fed Up - his pain got much worse on Friday, even with metacam. He was yelping stepping over the doorsill to get in and out of the garden and screamed when dh accidentally touched his back Sad. I called the specialist vets and he’s back on gabapentin as well as metacam, and his next appointment has been brought forward to this week. No walks in the meantime which we all miss. I’m keeping everything tightly crossed that this is just a temporary blip

BiteyShark · 15/04/2018 18:34

Poor teatimetoller and you Sad. Are there any other options other than painkillers and rest? It's awful when they are in pain.

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 15/04/2018 19:00

Oh I hope so tea time. Any other painkilling options? Hope they come up with a plan.
Madam is still paw chewing and being a bit funny about eating. Today she was crowned 2nd prettiest bitch at a fun dog show!! She met a couple of friends.
Tomorrow kids are back to school and we are going to her favourite place in the world. So if you go down to the woods you're sure of a BIG surprise!

BiteyShark · 15/04/2018 19:12

Well done WolfieDog at the show. Hope you enjoy the woods tomorrow.

noitsnotteatimeyet , how awful to go backwards when he was doing so well. Fingers crossed indeed that this is a blip.
Cocodog has just spent the weekend at her dog sitter where she hasn’t stayed since December who just happens to have an 11 month old doodle she loves to play with. I have been at a wedding venue open day with my son and future DIL plus other members of the family, DH picked her up after work and took her through the woods late this afternoon. When I turned up she greeted me with reserved excitement and a degree of “ ive actually got other things to be getting on with”😂
Now cuddled up to me on the sofa demanding belly rubs and relaxing, bless her.

steppemum · 15/04/2018 20:08

oh poor teatime Sad

BiteyShark · 16/04/2018 16:36

How's teatimetoller doing today? Any better?
