We use advocate here and it works perfect for us

One in the dog, one on the cat and it's done.

I don't flea unless I see one, but when I do they dissapear pretty quickly.

Yuck. Worst smell we had so far was when we had a walk over the defrosting fields after the snow. Unbeknownst to us they had spread muck over the field before the snow. She didn't roll but she was playing with another dog who did. And he ate it. Then he swung off our girl with his mouth. And she reeked! Much washing that day. Boak!
Ha at one pipette. Madam needs about 3! I think it's a big dog one, a medium dog one and a small one too! We advocate the cats and it works great but with her she's smothered from ears to shoulders, stinks and looks greasy for days. Plus she wipes it on us and the kids can't stroke her.

BiteyDog is 'wired' with advocate. He hates the smell, won't sleep, won't touch anything that he has touched with it. Greasy for a few days. Yuk. I noticed that we were on the very low end of quite a big weight difference so maybe it was proportionally a lot for him. Really love the tablet instead, so easy in comparison. Wish we had known about that from the start.

We haven't had a 'smelly' roll in anything for a while totally going to regret saying that aren't I. Going to be hot today, went out at 7 for a 20 min ball throw before it gets too warm to do anything.

Bitey - the flea collar we had said that it mustn't get wet, so I'm guessing the swimming etc made it ineffective!

I am thinking that we didn't have enough for steppdog. He had one pipette, and it didn't seem much bigger than the cat one.
hmm.

ds's room is spotless, he has hoovered, change his sheets, washed everything (including his home made quilt hmmphf Hmm) at 60 and sprayed it. He will now re-hoover and re make the bed.

Hmm wondering if a flea scare once a month might be a good thing Grin

On the plus side, all bedroom doors was shut to steppedog last night and he happily slept downstairs on his bed, which is very good.

The soresto collar says you don't need to remove it when swimming or bathing but whilst my friend said she never got any ticks using one we had loads and it was annoying having an 'additional collar'.

BiteyDog is annoyed because we are having to limit ball play in this heat.

Indy has started to not eat his breakfast in the mornings. Dont know if it's the heat. He'll gobble his dinner down though so not completely off his food, and loves his treats still.

Out of all the meals of the day BiteyDog isn't keen on breakfast but will eat most of it if he likes the flavour.

I think they just aren't that hungry first thing in the morning but I like BiteyDog to eat before he goes to daycare.

We have a fantastic solution to madams anxiety.

We bought her a deer antler about 3 weeks ago. She has been non stop chewing it since she's had it.

Absoutely loves it and it's still going strong.

She's not been as destructive since she's had it. No more chewing toys or paper. Rarely growls now when people get close to me.

She just carries this deer antler everywhere and gives it a good chomp when she wants Grin

Wolfiefan · 25/06/2018 16:14

Sounds like a great solution!! Mine loves a good chew. It does relax her too.

Report
Soubriquet · 25/06/2018 16:27

She's always been a chewer but pigs ears last her 30 mins at the most.

This antler has been going so long now it's brilliant. Well worth the £5 it cost. Even Dh has grudgingly admit it's worked. He grumbled about buying it as he thought she wouldn't touch it

I give mine raw and frozen pigs ears! And partly frozen lamb spine or Turkey neck. In the garden mind!!!

Report
Soubriquet · 25/06/2018 16:34

Grin

She would love them. But wouldn't stay out in the garden alone with them.

She loved the rabbit ears complete with fur (natural wormer) but they went in a flash

Ha. I shut the door. Even the wolfhound can't (so far) get through there. She quite likes it though as outside she has complete peace and quiet to chew!

Report
Soubriquet · 25/06/2018 16:38

Yeah madam wouldn't touch her chew if she wasnoutside

She's a stubborn cow

Report
Wolfiefan · 25/06/2018 16:43

Mine is also working her way through a tree. Obviously outside! Grin Went out last night and she had pulled a branch off and was stripping the bark off Shock

Deers antlers are great. I give BiteyDogs his when I need a bit of peace when trying to work at home.

Where do you buy deer antlers from? Wonder if pets at home do them

Report
BiteyShark · 25/06/2018 18:26

Goood I have seen them in most pet stores but I buy mine from amazon as I am too lazy to actually go shopping anymore Grin

Amazon is even better. I'm an Amazon addict.

Report
BiteyShark · 25/06/2018 19:35

In the puppy days when I just couldn't leave him alone Amazon next day delivery was a life saver Grin

Now I just can't be bothered to traipse around a shop.

The only downside of buying deers antlers online is you don't know what size and shape you will get. Some are short and fat and others long and thin and BiteyDog likes the fatter ones.

My local pet store sell them too

It's easier to have a good rummage through them to pick the best size

Report
Squirrel26 · 25/06/2018 21:18

Pets at Home do sell them. They also sell Buffalo horns which I haven’t bought but hear are also good.

SquirrelDog is feeling very sad right now, because I said he couldn’t have a Wispa. Grin

I'm terrified madam will damage herself on stuff I give her to chew. Blush

I fear cocodog is a spoilt brat, she seems to regard her antlers as second best. Chews them in an irritated manner when she considers her morning walk is overdue and bangs them against the patio door. I leave one out for her at all times. Would it be better to put it away and produce as a treat do you think?

Report
Wolfiefan · 25/06/2018 22:48

Don't ask me! I have discarded nylabones all over the garden and in the house too. Blush
