Yup Bitey 😬😬😬. Have some 1-2-1 training booked starting this week. Can't wait. Dpup is a clever thing and I KNOW she'll be fabulous...just want to get it right first time! 🍷🍫 to you too - what does Bitey Dog get up to?

BiteyShark · 20/11/2017 19:16

BiteyDogs recall was truely shocking when he hit teenage stage. We are through that phase and now he won't leave my side and even if he chases a few birds he comes circling back when I call him but for months he completely ignored me so hang in there Grin

BluthsFrozenBananas she's such a bundle of cute fluff Grin

Thewolfsjustapuppy · 20/11/2017 19:40

Polar we have a similar idea re carpets, they are in a shocking state after two pups in year. I starting to think the same thing about the furniture as wolfpup2 is a bit lot more destructive than wolfpup1 was.

Trust me Bitey, under that cute exterior lies a surprisingly naughty and very funny pup with extremely sharp teeth Grin.

Bananas that is one cute pup!

Elphame · 20/11/2017 20:29

Gorgeous pups! We are about to hit teenage stage I think - he is growing up fast!

GetTheStartyParted · 20/11/2017 21:21

Seeing all the little pups makes me realise that my puppy isn't that much of a puppy anymore! She's coming up to 7 months and is still my shadow Grin

Elphame · 21/11/2017 12:19

You know that meme going around? The one that says 10 mins scent work tires a pup as much as an hour walk? Lies all Lies (as far as Elfpup is concerned).

I woke up this morning feeling like death - not quite flu as I got up (just) but I really want to be back in bed. No way am I up to giving him his usual 90 min walk so he got a run in the nearby field. Lots of space and smells to amuse and all I'm good for at the moment.

I've tried umpteen scent games but he's still buzzing with energy. No sign of a nap. He's had an early lunch and I've put my fleece in his bed so I'm just hoping he'll crash for a bit soon. No sign of it yet! He's been chasing his squeaky ball up and down the sitting room as many times as I'm prepared to throw it.

Not sure how I'm going to get through this afternoon. At least with a toddler the TV will babysit!

BiteyShark · 21/11/2017 12:40

Elphame If it's just for one or two days then not exercising BiteyDog keeps him calmer and quieter in the house rather than doing a 'bit'.

Soubriquet · 22/11/2017 12:28

Just ordered the madam a trial box from Poppy's picnic. £10 with delivery. Will do her 6 days worth of food which is good price really.

Hoping she will like it.
Last night she had chicken mince, raw egg and chicken breast and wolfed it down

Elphame · 22/11/2017 13:17

That does look good. I'm still on the fence with raw. I like the idea but I''m not sure. I've had a look and a chat with Honey's but he's loving Butternut Box at the moment.

Soubriquet · 22/11/2017 13:24

I'm fully invested now, she had a raw chicken leg the other day.

After an initial wondering what to do, she finally worked out how to eat it.

The only problem was, hearing her crunch the bones sent my spine tingling. Grin

Wolfiefan · 22/11/2017 13:29

Ha Soubriquet you'd hate it here. I've had to move food about in the freezer to make way for delivery tomorrow. We have chicken feet in the "human" freezer. And the sound of a wolfhound chewing lamb ribs. Cat took one look and scarpered. I think she thought it was a cat Wolfie pup had murdered! Shock

Soubriquet · 22/11/2017 13:35

Something to get used to isn't it

We actually have a second freezer now too.....and the cat gets a few bits and pieces too which she loves

Wolfiefan · 22/11/2017 13:36

I have two freezers just for the dog and still it spills over into ours. Not the tripe though. Never the tripe. DH said no to freezer number 3. Bastard! Grin

Soubriquet · 22/11/2017 13:38

I think a 3rd freezer is defintely needed just for the tripe

Wolfiefan · 22/11/2017 13:40

We have two designated dog freezers!

Soubriquet · 22/11/2017 13:42

Always room for a 3rd Grin

Wolfiefan · 22/11/2017 13:50

You're a bad influence! Grin

Soubriquet · 22/11/2017 13:52

Terrible Grin.

How much food does wolfie pup eat a day?

I know madam is supposed to get around 200grams

Wolfiefan · 22/11/2017 13:56

Ha! 200g!
Yesterday she ate 1.5kg of dog mince, four chicken necks and a lamb rib too. Some dried liver at training.
(Sounds like the hungry caterpillar!)
She did lose loads of weight when she had the phantom though. Put on 1.5kg in two weeks!

Soubriquet · 22/11/2017 13:57

Wow..:must cost a fortune feeding her really but I suppose that's what you let yourself in for when you get a giant breed

Wolfiefan · 22/11/2017 14:00

I'm really lucky. I have a supplier who is also a farmer. I pay £1 to £1:50 a kg. I can't say I didn't know she would need to eat a fair bit. And as an adult they don't eat much more than say a GSD. She's on more as she's not an adult.

Soubriquet · 22/11/2017 14:05

Ah that's a very good deal really isn't it. Lucky you

Wolfiefan · 22/11/2017 14:09

We priced up stuff from the pet shop and it would be about £5 a day. Ouch!
I've told DH we aren't paying more than other owners. It's just a little dog could live for 15 years so the bills are more spread out!

Soubriquet · 22/11/2017 14:10

Fair point really there

And it's what's best for the dog

Wolfiefan · 22/11/2017 14:15

I'm not a "all kibble is poison" born again raw feeder! We mainly swapped to try and cure the eye and ear and itchy skin issues we had. She was on piriton and apoquel. All fine now. Plus she much prefers it.
