Where did you get your dog from?

Just curious, given the anti-breeding feeling (been reading the posts on the first page), where your dog actually came from? We got ours from a farmer - with a pet springer spaniel - who didn't realise that the collie (sheepdog) he'd borrowed from his neighbour would be able to climb out of the horsebox window. So no thought at all went into his breeding. So where did yours come from?

Grin That IS funny! You might give him The Gay ShockWink

Leroy is tiny isn't he? He'll think he's a big dog anyway then and the pink will just be more proof of his unassailable strength and superiority. Do Burberry do pink dog coats for him?

So exciting. I'm going to have to go on the main mumsnet website to see all your photos when he arrives, the app doesn't do photos!

LadyTurmoil · 26/09/2014 17:23

Mrs Wow, he can fit in your hands!! That's really tiny. I hope you don't have to wait at South Mimms too long for Leroy - put some photos up here when you can Smile

tooold Glad you found Ava - she looks like a lovely scruff - glad you got some contact with BU. I always messaged Cheryl via FB and she came back to me pretty quickly. Have you managed to sort out a homecheck?

LadyTurmoil · 26/09/2014 17:27

tooold have you seen Koko?

I'm thinking of getting a GSD rescue in a couple of years when I have got the delinquent border collie under control ( lives in hope) so am haunting rescue sites to get my fix.
I didn't feel I was an experienced enough owner to try it before but I'm getting there now I think.

Manchester dogs home for my first two; both lovely cross breeds and fantastic characters and family pets. My third was from Leigh cats and dogs home; she's a border collie and has all the traits of the breed (plus a few extras). Very hard work and has made me question our suitability as owners, but we're all getting there.

Lovethesea · 26/09/2014 21:20

How long am I waiting?! When is the lovely lost Leroy meant to make it home to you?

Very excited for you! So as we have our homecheck you'll be trying not go overwhelm Leroy with love. Brilliant.

dog 1 was a kind of rescue. I live in a very rural area. on a sunday afternoon she came wandering across the fields behind us and into our garden. There are sheep behind us and I didn't want the farmer or sheep or dog to have any problems with the dog so I minded her for the afternoon fully expecting someone to come looking for her. no one did so I spent 3 weeks advertising her locally. by that stage we had realised what a fantastic little dog she is. we decided to keep her as she wasn't claimed. two weeks after that we realised she was pregnant. She had the pups who we very carefully rehomed and kept track of with an offer of taking them back if need be. one was returned and we rehomed the pup and it was fine. got her nuetered and she us now an old lady who has been a huge part of my teens childhood memories.

Dog two we were offered as a gift 4 years ago. She's a little pure bred spaniel who was bred by a friend from her pets. we accepted her as we felt dog one would like the company. we were right -they're great buddies who are always together.
