thought a new thread would be apt - it is, after all a two parter...

are you ready? I don't think I am. I think I might cry - especially after the scene with wilf in the cafe and the added poignancy (sp?) of to be or not to be on boxing day.

do we have theories? or are we just content that the world is populated by John Simm giggling look a likes (especially as we are all, obviously, at least 1/2 timelord and therefore unchanged.)

countdoooooooown!

i refuse to accept a new doctor

even up to the end i thought, may be he won't go, but he has to because this has been soooo advertised.

ArizonaBarker · 01/01/2010 20:40

I was fine with it until The Cribbens cried.

That did it for me, I tell you.

nymphadora · 01/01/2010 20:42

It doesnt overtake the episodes to the extent of losing everything else.

DollyMessiter · 01/01/2010 20:42

I was disappointed tbh.
They had sooooo long to make this episode perfect, but it seemed more like a big wrap party/reunion for the cast and crew.

It seemed weird that The Doctor was afforded the privilege of saying goodbye to everyone prior to regeneration - a complete departure from the way it's happened in the past.

(John Simm was still wondrous though! )

MistleSnail · 01/01/2010 20:43

Can i just say that as much as i have enjoyed DT as the Dr - i won't miss his "i'm trying for a BAFTA" acting. I look forward to some young bloood - even if it's not as pretty...

serenity · 01/01/2010 20:45

Oh god why didn't Ten and the Master go off in the TARDIS together and live happily ever after

DD bawled her eyes out before it even finished.

nymphadora · 01/01/2010 20:48

Aw I wanna hug DT

dustycups · 01/01/2010 20:48

doctor who confidentuality (sp) was sadder than the actual episode, meant i cried twice

serenity · 01/01/2010 20:50

OK, watching him manfully attempting not to cry on Doctor Who Confidential has set me off sniffs and wipes eyes

Drop the bloody Take That though, please.

nymphadora · 01/01/2010 20:50

CE had some warning of regeneration.

nymphadora · 01/01/2010 20:54

Oooh ooh ooh trailer - WEEPING ANGELS and was it Sally SParrow?

MollieO · 01/01/2010 20:54

Mystery woman was Claire Bloom but no idea what part she was playing.

It made me cry . Odd because I thought the first part was rubbish.

And I'm blubbing watching Dr Who Confidential. We are skiing tomorrow and I haven't packed. I don't have time for this sentiment.

Only good thing is I came to DT's Dr Who late so I'll enjoy watching all the repeats.

I think John Simm would have made an excellent Dr Who.

The new Dr doesn't seem to have any eyebrows.

hocuspontas · 01/01/2010 20:55

MORE greatest bits coming up did they just say??

Agree - Confidential sadder.

Sorry if I've missed this earlier but the woman who appeared to Wilf - was she supposed to be Donna as an old woman?

RustyBear · 01/01/2010 20:55

Tom Baker had forewarning of his regeneration through pretty much the whole of Logopolis (four episodes), with the 'Watcher' lurking in the background.

serenity · 01/01/2010 20:57

Trailer looked good although...

Kissing!
Daleks!
Guns!
Woman who was the head of TW1 whose name I can't remember!

DCs are impressed by number of aliens, DS1 less so by appearance of Weeping Angels He hates them...

KaySqueeHarker · 01/01/2010 21:00

Yes Confidential was heart-breaking. Trailer looked fabulous. Off to watch it again

AliBellandthe40jingles · 01/01/2010 21:01

Oh I wish he wasn't going

I do NOT like the new Dr, humph.

serenity · 01/01/2010 21:16

Didn't she get deleted by the Cybermen?

KaySqueeHarker · 01/01/2010 21:18

nah, that's River Song.

serenity · 01/01/2010 21:35

Yes it is, isn't it is very embarrassed I'm tired and I had DD bouncing on me? fumbles for feeble excuse

edam · 01/01/2010 21:36

Well, that was a load of over-indulgent old bollocks IMO. Thank Christ RTD has left. Jolly well done on getting Doctor Who back on TV, Russell, but Jesus, someone needed to stop him.

Still v. sad we've lost Ten, though. He was THE best doc, just a shame his last episodes were written by RTD.

(Weird thing is, I was typing so fast I made a few mistakes and used backspace v. fast to correct - only caught myself doing the Master's rhythm, 1, 2, 3 4...)

peggotty · 01/01/2010 21:44

I think the new doctor is going to do just fine, wait and see! He's got a bit of spark about him, and although he is not particularily handsome, he has an interesting face. I reckon he's a grower!!!
