thought a new thread would be apt - it is, after all a two parter...

are you ready? I don't think I am. I think I might cry - especially after the scene with wilf in the cafe and the added poignancy (sp?) of to be or not to be on boxing day.

do we have theories? or are we just content that the world is populated by John Simm giggling look a likes (especially as we are all, obviously, at least 1/2 timelord and therefore unchanged.)

countdoooooooown!

my ds(8) likes him and wants an action figure already

aSilverLining · 01/01/2010 20:00

I will miss DT so much. I don't know who was more upset me or DS.

lumpsdumps · 01/01/2010 20:01

I cried buckets and the new doctor is an ugly pig. I love David!

SevenSaltiresSwimming · 01/01/2010 20:01

I was doing ok until the bit at Donna's wedding - it tipped me over the edge, but I think that's cos my own dad died when I was 16, so obviously wasn't at my wedding and my uncle gave me something from my dad on my wedding day.
So when he said he's seen mr Noble and borrowed a quid, it got me a bit teary

LOL I assumed he meant Alfred Noble! Total forgot about her last name.

KaySqueeHarker · 01/01/2010 20:07

Rassilon!!!!

Jolly good, Martha ditched the chunky doctor bloke and got with Mickey, superb. Bit heavy on the endings, and I could have done without Rose, bless her. But that moment with the knocks was a killer. I didn't want you to go either, Ten.

But I will say this, it's marvellous to completely not fancy the Doctor. Geronimo!!!

DD is sobbing like her heart is going to break.

Agree that new Dr has been hit with the ugly stick. Not as easy on the eyes as Tennant.

oxocube · 01/01/2010 20:08

I just bawled my eyes out . Thought the 'knock 4 times' was sooooo sad and fitting

southeastastra · 01/01/2010 20:08

aw i'm sure david will be appearing in other programmes. i fancied christopher eccleston. he didn't last five minutes as the dr

Love the fact that he saved all his old croney's lives but got Barrowman his end away instead - v fitting!

RustyBear · 01/01/2010 20:16

Just watching Confidential - they have a life-sized dummy which they used in the bits where he was being pushed downstairs in the wheeled chair - it is uncannily like him - I wonder what happened to it? Bet it would fetch a fortune if they auctioned it - or even better raffled it...

nymphadora · 01/01/2010 20:16

DT is off to America now isnt he.

Rose still had the funny voice

nymphadora · 01/01/2010 20:18

That dummy was fantastic and hardly even used. Maybe they could give it to MN to auction...

persephonesnape · 01/01/2010 20:20

Incidentally, high fives for the master oomphing rasillon for putting the knocks in his head.

I have cheered, wept, whooped, laughed and loved. I am admittedly a bit weird and obsessive about things I Iove, oh! This is one of them. Ohh.

But give donna something better than settling for that rubbish bloke. . Give her stuttery man.

seven saltires - I hope you felt your dad there like that on your day. X

Sorry to be the dissenting voice, but it was all so bleh at the end and really spending a good part of the programme rehashing the blubber bits from past episodes just was so boring. I am surprised the Dr's daughter didn't make an appearance ...

Roll on SM - he has been responsible for some real cracking episodes and tones down the daftness ... sorry ....

MummyDoIt · 01/01/2010 20:22

So who was the mystery woman with her hands over her face? Was she supposed to be the Doctor's mother?

I have to agree that SM is amuch better writer and less angst . I'm looking forward to some scary ones and less 'magic' saving the world

KaySqueeHarker · 01/01/2010 20:32

Less angst? The man wrote Girl in the Fireplace and Silence in the Library.

RustyBear · 01/01/2010 20:35

SM specialises in playing on children's deepest fears - child zombies, monsters under your bed, everyday objects (statues) that can kill you literally in the blink of an eye and things that live in the shadows.

I'm glad I won't have any small children watching next season...
