I have it on good authority that they are filming an episode of Dr Who at Cardiff prison key words 'The Master's wife'!!

Well, that's what I think DT thought everyone would be thinking when he said on the commentary 'it's not what you're thinking....'

That sentence kind of got away from me.....

KayHarker · 14/04/2009 13:33

See, I'm always a bit in a pondery sense about Tennant saying things like that. I mean he did a similar smart-alecky 'I know more than you do' thing about the whole 'You are not alone' which turned out to be really quite straight-forward after all.

I'm never sure whether he's aiming things at the broader audience that just tunes in because they saw the trailer, and you know, it's a Saturday evening, or if he means the geek contingent that analyzes the various clues to the point of insanity.

RustyBunny · 14/04/2009 13:39

Didn't whatever it was in Midnight knock four times?

Have just realised I am still in bunny costume - just off to resume my ursine identity....

KayHarker · 14/04/2009 13:43

Yeah, but the Midnight creature was just echoing.

The analysis must surely come from working out what he thinks we think he means. Once we work that out, we can eliminate it, and proceed from that position.

RustyBear · 14/04/2009 13:43

That's better.

I have posted the CD to Oggs today, so she should be able to return without fear of spoilers soon.

KayHarker · 14/04/2009 13:45

Oh, jolly good. If it doesn't work, I do have it on old-fashioned videotape.

PortAndLemon · 14/04/2009 13:48

I suppose they are never going to go on a commentary and say "And yes, this means exactly what you think it means; we just put the line in so that we'd look clever, later on, to the casual viewer who isn't geeky enough to be bothering to listen to this commentary anyway".

RustyBear · 14/04/2009 13:48

Perhaps he does think we think its the midnight thing - it's mentioned on the Doctor Who wiki.

But then the wiki must have been updated after Planet of the Dead was shown, unless they had inside information, and the commentary was recorded 10 days before it was shown, so probably not.

He was talking about people being on Twitter at one point & I was just waiting to see if he said 'Someone's been impersonating me', but he didn't

KayHarker · 14/04/2009 14:40

Honestly, if anyone genuinely still thinks David Tennant uses networking forums and the like now, they almost deserve to be hoodwinked into following attention-seeking loons, he said it often enough that he doesn't.

Although I'd love to know if his OG/DWF login is still active.

KayHarker · 14/04/2009 14:41

Maybe the significant thing is who is doing the knocking? Who might we think that was?

UnquietDad · 14/04/2009 18:44

Just a quick view here, and it will be quick because I am leaving (I've decided).

Thought it was an OK episode. Not "special". Nice bluff on the Tritovores. Swarm a bit dull, although a clever idea. Bit disappointed that neither the plot nor the bus went anywhere for half an hour, and that the supporting cast got so little to do at the expense of the Doctor-Christina axis. But, oh, what an axis. And what a pair of boots. And what an amazing arse
nal of gadgetry in her rucksack.

Sorry, I don't know how that line-break got in.

She has to meet Captain Jack... he may have met his match. I fear that KayH is reading this and planning that very encounter in fanfic right now.

Lots of fans seem to hate Lady C. I can't imagine why, but Michelle Ryan certainly has some knockers.

Katisha · 14/04/2009 18:46

Leaving what?

KayHarker · 14/04/2009 18:58

Leaving?

You can't leave.. it's.. it's.. like the Hotel California...

RustyBear · 14/04/2009 19:08

I hope you're only leaving so you can get more writing done.....

Well, actually I hope you're not leaving at all, but if it was to get on with your writing I suppose that's a reasonable excuse....

RustyBear · 14/04/2009 19:18

Oh and there is already Captain Jack/Christina fanfic out there - posted 4 hours after POD ended...

Rhubarb · 14/04/2009 19:22

Are you quite sure he's not on Twitter?

UnquietDad · 14/04/2009 19:24

I'm leaving. Seriously. Partly to get more writing done (I need fewer Work Avoidance Strategies) but partly because, well, of Other Things. Which have caused Frustration.

Rhubarb · 14/04/2009 19:27

Sorry to hear that UQD. Take a sabbatical, it's what I often do when I feel that Mumsnet has become all too much. But do come back at some point.

SalBySea · 14/04/2009 19:35

Who's Joan?

RustyBear · 14/04/2009 19:42

Joan Redfern was the matron at the school that the Doctor was working at (as John Smith) after the chameleon arch turned him human. He fell in love with her, but lost her when he had to become the Doctor again.

KayHarker · 14/04/2009 19:44

Well, you will be missed. (You're not disappearing from all online haunts, I hope...)

SalBySea · 14/04/2009 19:56

Ah yes, the lady from Spaced - thanks

UnquietDad · 14/04/2009 22:36

Don't know what the crush thread is, KayH. I've actually been away for a week, and came back with the decision made to cut down my Internetting time a bit!

UnquietDad · 14/04/2009 22:37

Oh, the one about me, you mean.... No no, I found that funny.

KayHarker · 14/04/2009 22:39

UQD, jolly good, so did I.

Cutting down internet time. I have heard of this idea, and find it simply fascinating.

Actually, I have wasted an evening piddling about on here when I could have had my laptop out. Bloody hell, you're right.
