I have it on good authority that they are filming an episode of Dr Who at Cardiff prison key words 'The Master's wife'!!

Rusty... Thank You. Thank You. Thank You!

Well. I did make some notes, and will present them verbatim in order of writing...

RustyBear · 16/04/2009 00:31

Glad it got there - it had a long way to go! And glad that I seem finally to have mastered my dvd recorder.....

RustyBear · 16/04/2009 00:33

Double Decker Bus - you forgot Summer Holiday....

KayHarker · 16/04/2009 13:17

In tangentally related news, I had a Doctor Who dream last night. I was companion to Five (Yay! How my dreams always used to be before the tall skinny bloke took over...) and we were hiding from Daleks, and I had a machine that knitted a special kind of arran jumper that would help defeat them, and it was all terribly exiting and just a bit sexy.

Only in my head could Peter Davison, cosy jumpers and Daleks be sexy.

RustyBear · 16/04/2009 14:07

So did you use the arran jumper as a sort of tea cosy over the Daleks to stop them seeing anything?

Like the jumper that the Knit-O Matic put over Preston's head just as he was menacing Wallace & Gromit?

iirc that one didn't work very well...

KayHarker · 16/04/2009 14:23

It was some sort of special wool that the Daleks couldn't detect anything through if you layered them up enough. So we put them on at first but that was far too hot, and then we decided to just make loads to pile against the wall so they couldn't find us.

And when I woke up, I realized I had dreamed myself into a fanfic cliche that was only lacking sex pollen.

RustyBear · 16/04/2009 23:09

Just had to put this link in: Extermiknit!

PortAndLemon · 17/04/2009 08:33

Perhaps, on balance, you'd better not write that one up as fanfic.

DS has gone to nursery in his Doctor Who glasses, brandishing his sonic screwdriver. And we've started introducing him to Classic Who, beginning with "Robot" (which conveniently enough was namechecked in POTD). So far as he's concerned there's now "The Doctor with white hair" [Three], "The Doctor with curly hair" [Four], "The Doctor with no hair" [Nine... seems a mite unfair, that one] and "The Doctor with sticky-out hair" [Ten].

KayHarker · 17/04/2009 08:49

yeah, can't see that making the leap from twisted imagination to surrealistic fanfic, tbh. Although there was a bit of dialogue that has stuck which I'm using for something else. Waste not want not..

My lot were finally introduced to Genesis of the Daleks during series 4, and Dd1 was very philosophical about the connection to the last line in it and Dalek Caan in Journey's End. She is her mother's daughter.

We have Daddy's Doctor (Four), Mama's Doctor (Five), My Doctor (Ten), the one before my Doctor (Nine) and Cole Hawlings (Two). I don't think Pertwee has quite registered yet, even though they enjoy the Five Doctors. He's not a favourite of mine, it has to be said.

Last time we had the Doctor dress up stuff with DWA, the glasses all broke, which caused too many tears for me to do it again any time soon.

KayHarker · 17/04/2009 08:50

And that was my pre 9 o'clock Doctor Who essay.

PortAndLemon · 17/04/2009 08:57

Given that he Pertwee featured for all of three seconds at the start of "Robot" I was impressed that he'd been given his own hair designation.

The DWA glasses are holding up better than his previous pair, which were drawn on A4 paper and cut out.

Ripeberry · 17/04/2009 14:19

In a town near me they are having a "DrWho Day" on Saturday as part of the Art Festival and they will even have a lecture on the science of Dr Who.
Might have a wander down. They do have a lovely window display of cardboard Tardises and Daleks and even K9 in the shopping center.
The town is Thornbury just north of Bristol.

ReallyReally · 17/04/2009 23:00

Surely any discussion of Nine should be about 'the Doctor with the teeth'

RustyBear · 18/04/2009 16:05

Or 'the Doctor with the ears'

myredcardigan · 18/04/2009 16:08

Rustybear,I just posted in SN about the thread you and LottieJenkins were on when she was criticised for saying some BGT contestants had learning difficulties. I read today that Susan Boyd herself has LD. Anyway, just wanted to say toyou and LJ that you were right.

RustyBear · 18/04/2009 16:56

Think you've got the wrong bear mrc! Think it was anniebear not me on that thread.

myredcardigan · 18/04/2009 17:02

Oh sorry I'm easily confused.

PortAndLemon · 21/04/2009 11:59

Filming in Wookey Hole Caves recently with people in monklike robes, the Internet reports...

KayHarkerInTheBackOfTheQuattro · 23/04/2009 22:43

If you have 6 or so minutes, and the patience to watch a few still frames set to music, you might be interested in this.

There's a couple of pictures in there which would certainly back up our very own bigmouthstrikesagain's tidbit that kicked off the thread, methinks! Brava!

KayHarkerInTheBackOfTheQuattro · 23/04/2009 22:56

Oh, and Henrik's. What make ye of that?

oggsfrog · 23/04/2009 23:24

Oh No! ... it's Sarah Jane again.

While I'm waiting for it to load I have a confession to make... I have had my head turned, and need to beg a favour from you Kay.
You are familiar with fanfic are you not?

Could you direct me to any Twilight/Edward Cullen/Jacob Black fan/slashfic? Pretty please?

KayHarkerInTheBackOfTheQuattro · 23/04/2009 23:32

And the Doctor manhandling Luke. I'm sure that slash already exists. Rule 34 etc.

I'll have a look for you and start another thread. Tsk.

oggsfrog · 23/04/2009 23:41

I heart you Kayharker!

KayHarkerInTheBackOfTheQuattro · 23/04/2009 23:44

Oh, bugger that, I'm not starting a new thread for Twilight.

You ain't seen me, right?

oggsfrog · 23/04/2009 23:49

Thank You

Have you read any of them?
