Oh, I do like Christopher, and I think in a few years he'll be brilliant, but his inexperience has shown in parts, and he's played too safe.

MollieO · 26/02/2009 20:07

Matt. I haven't watched that much of this series other than the last three weeks. These three don't seem as good as other finalists. All of them have had major issues on the big cooking pieces and I doubt any of them could cut it in a professional kitchen. Am I being unfair? Are they equal to other years' finalists?

zanz1bar · 26/02/2009 20:09

Do you remeber the young girl last year with a mud and green grass pudding, now she was amzing

MollieO · 26/02/2009 20:12

That's my point zanz1bar, I've not seen that spark in these three. All I've heard, particularly this week, at how slow they all are and they need extra help. For example at Burghley they got the credit but what about those other chefs who stepped in to help and ensure the diners had their food the same evening?!

Habbibu · 26/02/2009 20:12

Emily? She was a prodigy. Just amazing.

MollieO · 26/02/2009 20:15

They also seemed to have more personalities in previous years. Emily was mad but really really good.

MollieO · 26/02/2009 20:15

Chris and Andy seem a bit arrogant to me. Matt wins it for me for his niceness!

zanz1bar · 26/02/2009 20:16

Whats with the crumble/bread crumb thing? come across this before?

zanz1bar · 26/02/2009 20:19

Quick break for chocolate

zanz1bar · 26/02/2009 20:29

Sorry but that oyster dish looks revolting

MollieO · 26/02/2009 20:32

oyster porridge I suppose to compete with Heston's snail porridge. Ugh!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 26/02/2009 20:33

Chris reminds me of that lovely one from Bristol a couple of years ago. He was fantastic

MollieO · 26/02/2009 20:35

So all the professional chefs think all three are fab. What do I know?!

OllieWollieWoo · 26/02/2009 20:42

Bloody Daily Mail has an article about one of them and what they are doing now in the food industry - wonder if its a bluff (don't mention whether he won it obviously!!!)

zanz1bar · 26/02/2009 20:43

oh poor chris

FiveGoMadInDorset · 26/02/2009 20:44

It's not going to be him is it?

zanz1bar · 26/02/2009 20:45

wow mats food looks good. put my money on him now

FiveGoMadInDorset · 26/02/2009 20:46

Come on my local boyy we need another decent restauraunt in Dorset

Habbibu · 26/02/2009 20:47

yeah - think Matt may have it.

OllieWollieWoo · 26/02/2009 20:47

Ahh - I so want matt to win. Any man that can cook honeycomb has my vote!

Itsjustafleshwound · 26/02/2009 20:48

God - I wish he would just grow some balls and stop crying !

MollieO · 26/02/2009 20:48

Matt must win on presentation.

MollieO · 26/02/2009 20:49

I think he just thinks about the dream he has for his family - running a cafe - and every bit of praise is a bit closer to realising it.

shonaspurtle · 26/02/2009 20:51

Andy didn't quite pull it off. It's got to be Matt.

zanz1bar · 26/02/2009 20:52

Yup its going to be matt
