Its on at nine.
Its about women that give birth at home, alone with no midwife, and no medical interventio.

Wow! Even DH is watching now!

RegenerAitch · 09/07/2008 21:36

i am feeling genuinely queasy at Claire's use of the word 'birth' as a verb. she's getting on my nerves.

Jaysfinished · 09/07/2008 21:36

i am in awe - it was beautiful

expatinscotland · 09/07/2008 21:37

I'd like to try such a water birth.

It would be nice this time round not to feel that awful bowel pressure.

Oooo, I heart Garden of the Gods

sounds like you are suffering from living-in-the-south-of-england-itis, frank. i hope you get someone nice. tbh i can't think why a midwife would do hbs if she was goiing to be unsupportive, afaik they don't have to do them. at least that's what a mw told me up here.

Evelynsmum · 09/07/2008 21:39

FrannyandZooey not a cheap option but there independent midwives and you will know who will be present.

My planned HB with DD went wrong in spite of a supportive MW and we transferred to hospital. It was a good birth though.

FrannyandZooey · 09/07/2008 21:40

yes you're right Evelynsmum
and I appreciate what you say about transferring despite midwife being good

I've had 3 births, the 3rd was the only one that involved true pain imvho Twas a hb transfer though but easy birth.
I make little noise aside from one or two whispered expletives with no3.
but I needed the midwife as I give birth on all fours/semi standing up over the bed so cherub needs to be caught!

FrannyandZooey · 09/07/2008 21:40

No Aitch, I don't get it either
I knew her pretty well, also - and she had been perfectly supportive VERBALLY up until the day came

lou031205 · 09/07/2008 21:40

Do these ladies not realise that in an emergency, they may not be in a position to provide resus to their baby?

RegenerAitch · 09/07/2008 21:40

feeling v salacious for asking but are the chubby pair together?

expatinscotland · 09/07/2008 21:41

I'm trying a hypnobirthing CD this time, in hopes of not having a panic attack.

Piffle · 09/07/2008 21:41

I reckon not pruners...

RegenerAitch · 09/07/2008 21:41

aaargh, 'birth'. fuck off.

expatinscotland · 09/07/2008 21:43

Oh, I don't want wee ones there.

That's the main reason I don't want HB.

I feel more comfortable with just adults and being able to be cavewoman.

RegenerAitch · 09/07/2008 21:43

she must be scared, eh? cos if not she wouldn't be experiencing pain?

lying down panicking this is not the same

lou031205 · 09/07/2008 21:44

expatinscotland · 09/07/2008 21:44

Aw, he's cute.

RegenerAitch · 09/07/2008 21:44
