Starts sun 20th Sept

A glorious spin off from the split but with a new family

The six-part series will introduce us to Kishan Law, a British-South Asian high net worth family law firm in Manchester, and the go-to for the city’s elite.

At the centre of it is Aria Kishan (played by Ritu Arya), a fast-rising star who’s poised to step up and take the mantle from her father Dhruv (Sanjeev Bhaskar).

We’ll also meet Aria’s siblings Maya (Aysha Kala), Kav (Arian Nik), and partner Neal (Danny Ashok).

However, the family’s succession plans are complicated by the death of Aria’s mother, as Dhruv begins to wonder if his daughter can, or should, take on the responsibility single handedly.

The official synopsis continues: “Aria’s relationship is placed under scrutiny too with the wedding to long-term partner Neal on the horizon, but with their personal and professional lives so entwined it’s unclear if their relationship can withstand any more pressure - a problem further compounded when a former secret flame (Dimitri Leonidas) arrives in Manchester unexpectedly.

Eeek! A spoiler! Sorry - Had to remove this one in the interest of keeping the thread spoiler free.

He hasn’t been in it yet. Assume you’ve seen it all

I’ve watched it all so won’t discuss now, but loved it. It was very similar to the split, same vibes,

It’s really strange that some people are hating it so much when they liked the split and these typical sorts of dramas. It’s a real mystery. 🧐

Peachy2005 · 28/09/2026 17:24

I am enjoying it now that I’ve gotten over how visually similar it is to the original The Split. I always think Aria is a bit untidy looking at work for a top lawyer but looks amazing in an evening gown or traditional costume. Can’t imagine on what planet Sanjeev would have thought it was a good idea to help a (recovering) gambling addict achieve a judgeship. Wish Aria would leave the firm and form a new one with the (possible) half-sister (that’s still my guess). As long as she doesn’t stupidly actually marry Neel, I will be ok with things, but I’m not sure the Greek guy is the man for her either…he’s a bit blah.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/09/2026 17:26

Yes I’m guessing sister as well.

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 28/09/2026 17:27

I think she will call it off with Neal and maybe where the split title comes in with sister maya and maybe aria

B9waiting · 28/09/2026 18:33

I would like Aria to ditch her sexist dad & set up alone (or with the suspected half sister) & get the firm to where she wants to take it!

Hoping she buys a fantastic apartment with amazing views that we can lust over too & ditches the useless men in her life! She has no need for any of them!

Signing in for episode 4. Looking forward to it

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/09/2026 22:11

Why hasn't any of the family been at the farm for a year

I was expecting to find him dead at the farm

If a solicester sent it back to John at the farm surely there would be a copy at the firm (obv not their firm) and aren't all wills put into a kinda of ledger , so when dead type in their name and says a will is made x date - sure mine is on file that I did a new one 2years ago

Glad will found at the farm , but would an uncle make up one spare bed for his engaged neice and Luke

A farmhouse that big and no other spare bedrooms ?

Luke obv slept somewhere for the rest of the night

Tho uncle also knew things weren't right with neal and aria and guess thats the issue with arranged marriages ......

Also surprised that Linda didn't ring his 3 kids when she called an ambulance

Glad he said sorry to her

Neal and zoya seem better suited

Ashok and kav will get together

What was in the envelope - I thought maybe a birth certificate and guessing after the ending and zoya is his child

It's when tho - I can't age her and is she older than maya or not - was Dhruv unfaithful to his wife

Micheal drained the kids trust fund 🙀🙀🙀 assume thousands in there , maya will never forgive him for that - or the rest of the family

And lovely to see Ramon as uncle - tho someone spoilt that for me

tho he will always be Ferdy to me and Terence McCann from Brassic

Peachy2005 · 28/09/2026 22:24

I think Zoya is probably older so a previous relationship I would guess. It would be tidy if she ended up with neal but is he her type? I know the pool game laid the foundation but he doesn’t seem dynamic enough.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/09/2026 22:49

She doesn’t look that much older than maya tho

so yes guessing the eldest daughter /child

thi if she isn’t then means daddy played away and all the faithful loving dead wife is a lie

Can I join you ladies? I started watching it as well - currently on Ep 4.
I thought to give it a chance as I really enjoyed the original The Split but God, Aria is not a very good lawyer, is she? The scene at the farm with the uncle and finding the will, the most important item that would decide if the uncle keeps the farm or not. And she never calls to update anyone about it, the father is chasing for an update, her fiance is also chasing. Someone mentioned timings and plot holes - I find the whole Aria and Neal wedding preparation arc completely implausible, to be honest. The older sister Maya is going through a divorce, potentially losing her family home, yet she is shown laughing and celebrating at the hen party without a care in the world. The secret daughter Zoya blurts out her secret when pressed, so is she still trying to blackmail the father now that the secret is out? And then the main character Aria - upon hearing this news - she thinks hooking up with her former flame is the best decision, rather than sharing with her siblings and confronting her father??? And yes, I was looking forward to seeing some sophisticated power dressing in the legal world. But Aria’s wardrobe completely disappoints - she is dressed too androgynous. I get that she is ambitious and wants to be taken seriously, but what’s wrong with a nice work dress?

bookshelf85 · 29/09/2026 14:33

The wedding stuff is bonkers! It’s not like oh you work in the morning. And then it’s your bloody hen do! People take weeks off for indian weddings these things take loads of planning - crazy amounts. It’s just like keep the office going and get engaged in the evening - totally unrealistic

I also thought that’s a nice clean bed for someone with no eye sight practically 😂

It's the working all day then having your engagement/hen party in the evening then back to work in the morning that gets me. It's like they have extra hours in the day! All back at work in the morning bright eyed and bushy tailed.

Italiangreyhound · 29/09/2026 21:39

Loving it. Zoya is so glamorous.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/09/2026 23:52

Everyone is welcome @audrey01 tho at tv pace

I was thinking the same and the organising everything. No one seemed be actually involved in organising these extravaganzas. I think there was one occasion where Aria went to choose flowers but that was it. It just seemed to be a total disconnect. Working full time during the day then extravagant party in the evening conjured up out of nothing.

Hannah in her gorgeous Sandro coat.
Is there nowhere to stride in Mancs?

I haven’t watched any of The Split-Up yet, but I was hoping there would be lots of heeled striding in excellent clothes!

But the same happened all the time in The Split! Hannah arriving home late for a big party at her enviable house that she’d not had to do the gruntwork for was of the same level of fantasy as striding over the Millennium Bridge in very high heels in the mornings or a wardrobe consisting of wonderful outfits in their dry cleaner wrapping, rather than my floordrobe.

i have watched it all and didn’t hate it, but the Split had much more interesting cases.

if it’s all family drama, it easily becomes soap opera-ish

Italiangreyhound · 30/09/2026 08:39

The Speed of engagement after 10 years rather floored me.

friedaklein · 30/09/2026 09:25

I think I am giving up on this- and as I said I am their target market being S Asian- and moving on to " War" on Sky, also a legal drama with Dominic West.

The Split Up is just very poorly scripted and the cases are very dull. Disappointed.

bananaobama · 30/09/2026 09:42

This is pants

the split storylines were more complex and their cases spanned the entire series, not done and dusted in half an episode

PerdreLeBleu · 30/09/2026 09:53

I can recommend Family Law which is a Canadian law drama about a family law firm. It’s on ITVx and I think it gets the balance right between the family drama and the interesting legal cases.
