Starts sun 20th Sept

A glorious spin off from the split but with a new family

The six-part series will introduce us to Kishan Law, a British-South Asian high net worth family law firm in Manchester, and the go-to for the city’s elite.

At the centre of it is Aria Kishan (played by Ritu Arya), a fast-rising star who’s poised to step up and take the mantle from her father Dhruv (Sanjeev Bhaskar).

We’ll also meet Aria’s siblings Maya (Aysha Kala), Kav (Arian Nik), and partner Neal (Danny Ashok).

However, the family’s succession plans are complicated by the death of Aria’s mother, as Dhruv begins to wonder if his daughter can, or should, take on the responsibility single handedly.

The official synopsis continues: “Aria’s relationship is placed under scrutiny too with the wedding to long-term partner Neal on the horizon, but with their personal and professional lives so entwined it’s unclear if their relationship can withstand any more pressure - a problem further compounded when a former secret flame (Dimitri Leonidas) arrives in Manchester unexpectedly.

@Blondeshavemorefun Your title says No Spoliers but look at your second but last post! Maybe delete it.

I am really enjoying the show - two episodes in.

What have I said that’s a spoiler ?

I’ve only seen 1&2 and once been on tv it’s fair game to discuss

I"m loving it so far. I need to find the location of that gorgeous office building in Manchester I'm guessing King St? Does anyone know?

CharlotteSometimes1 · 22/09/2026 06:25

The gorgeous office is a bar on the corner of King Street. I was really disappointed with the show, dreadful acting, poor script even the wardrobe wasn’t good.

bananaobama · 22/09/2026 07:58

Aria’s clothes, make up and hair is drab. Greasy ponytail snd too many ties

maya has the best hair and clothes

So bil is a judge and skint /gambler

If her dad hadn't barged in he wouldnt have filed for divorce

What has he asked the affair man to do in confidence and trying to get cash from business to pay off other lawyer lady - but why

If he can't afford to move out I assume he can't afford to pay the huge mortgage they have

Becky will she still want him

So son is now a lawyer - does his family know he is gay as I thought that was very bad in his religion

Hinduism does not consider homosexuality a bad thing.
Though some Hindus may. Exactly as some conservative Christians may.
But in this case, the dad Dhruv Kishan was fine with it; as they showed in the engagement scene.

As for pp saying the beardy or dark men looking the same, The Split had 4 white men as love interests, three of them beardy! Nathan, Christy, Tyler, Professor Ron. I am sure we all managed to tell them apart.

Agreed, so many racist/sterotypical/ill-informed tropes on this thread. It’s embarrassing.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/09/2026 08:18

Yes I missed that dad was ok with him being gay. Glad he had a supportive dad

my friends brother in college was shunned by his family when he came out. Tho was 30yrs ago but it’s stuck with me

plus junaid from towie

in many dramas they have similar looking men - we commented on it on a ch 5 drama a while back

sure they do to confuse us

so I’m not saying just dark /beardy men. Often the main characters seem to be similar

I think Zoya- the other ballsy woman lawyer- is Dhruv's secret daughter and aiming for a piece of the firm. Which will be too soapy for words.

NewGirlInTown · 22/09/2026 09:28

Only redeeming feature of this tosh is that Sanjeev Bhashkar looks absolutely gorgeous.

bananaobama · 22/09/2026 09:45

This has made me want to rewatch the Split

just remembered how they used to strut across the millennium bridge in heels. A lot 🤣

Hannah in her gorgeous Sandro coat.
Is there nowhere to stride in Mancs?

Nathan had dark hair, Christy was much taller and blond <<swoon>>, Tyler was black and (I think?) Uncle R was quite a bit older than the other three.
I've watched things where there are multiple white beardy men of a similar age and had trouble keeping track of who was who.

Tyler was not black. So you haven't managed to tell them apart.

It's about an Asian family. I don't think we need non-dark men in it so we can tell the men apart, but there are two anyway, Luke and Michael. I think that's plenty.

Oh yes, my mistake, I see now I googled 'Tyler the Split' quickly and some text and an image came up talking about Tyler but showing another actor, who IS black, who I think was a partner in the firm?
Point stands though about Nathan and Christy (am not sure about Professor Ron).

I know The Split Up is about an Asian family Hmm I was replying to someone who was talking about the men in The Split.

Tyler was white Irish.

Italiangreyhound · 22/09/2026 13:57

Zander was black.

Italiangreyhound · 22/09/2026 13:59

@bananaobama

I have rewatched the Split and I loved it again. Might start a thread to discuss if interested!

Zander, that's it!

Italiangreyhound · 22/09/2026 14:53

I think the acting is good. The storylines are clever.

mum2jakie · 22/09/2026 22:11

It's watchable but the original series was in a league of its own. Some of this is pure cheese - the three siblings (including gay bro) cuddled up in bed watching wedding videos! Bit naff really.

It does make me want to rewatch The Split though!

Italiangreyhound · 22/09/2026 22:19

I think it really has the feel of The Split.

There were lots of shots in The Split with the three sisters dancing/drinking/talking etc. Very cheesy too.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/09/2026 22:34

It’s a shame they named it this as too close to the original and puts people off

I’m enjoying it and looking forward to e3

It’s terrible I keep forwarding it - think I might give up!
