Love this series. Back next Sunday

tho the rich families who own their own business etc - I hope they don’t do the usual ‘free training’ to the poorer families and then get them to start their own companies

Yay! Thanks for the heads up. I do enjoy this series - I'm in the poor house cohort 😁

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2026 18:17

I’m def not in the £2k a week spending money but equally as long as I work hard and save /look after the pennies as mummy blondes would say - I’m not in the poor house either

The thing I hate about a lot of them in the later series are that these rich ‘business owners’ are usually wanky MLM consultants, or life coaches or some other form of grifter. They make out as though their ‘wisdom’ is worth thousands and they’re ‘gifting’ a fortune to some poor person because they’re so altruistic and benevolent.

In reality, they’re just spouting a load of bollocks for an hour or two, and not charging. The reason they’re so rich is because they’re obviously brilliant salespeople, but it’s probably no use to single-mum Kayleigh who has been cleaning all her life on minimum wage.

I preferred the old ones where they had people running proper businesses and offering real tangible help. Lots of these people obviously just go on the programme to show off how rich they are.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2026 18:38

Oh totally agree.

love your term wanky mlm - it’s so true

E1 tonight

nigel and sue business gurus swap with courier Damian and care worker Becky

Doseofreality · 08/02/2026 17:11

Some friends of ours were approached to take part, a few series back, via their estate agent when they purchased their house. They declined.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/02/2026 12:29

Why did they say no @Doseofreality

were the poor or rich family

OP posts:
PeacockPalace · 09/02/2026 12:35

The couples were both ok last night but that son of the rich people got on my nerves. Riding on mummy and daddy’s coat tails and acting like Mr Business Boss man, whilst being a patronising cock

“Rich” family, they refused as it’s not their thing at all to splash their lives all over tv.

The rich family annoyed me spending money on a van to clear the rubbish and buying garden furniture whilst on the swap isn’t how it should work surely!

He was very strange. What was with that weird faux American accent.

I liked both the couples though, and I thought the rich couple were really lovely and generous.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/02/2026 13:59

Tho I didn’t like the beginning showing trailers of future episodes so we know what happens to some of them at the meet ups

£30 a week on food 🙀🙀

I didn’t get why they didn’t take the stuff in the garden to the tip - that doesn’t cost anything - or break it up and put in black bin over weeks

I think they seemed quite lazy tbh. It's like with the fact that they left the house half decorated; if they really truly wanted to get it painted then you can get huge value tubs of white paint in B&Q and brushes from Poundland. Also they struck me as the type of people that have just trundled along staying poor in life. The woman was only working part time as a carer, yet she has two grown up children so could easily go full time. They both could have probably got higher paying jobs than the ones that they currently had, but clearly hadn't tried to.

Tbh I was thinking the same

3 days work and extra shifts with elderly but could have found extra work

same with her older son - no job

£5k to decorate their home and carpets. What a lovely thing to do. A really nice couple Nigel and sue were 💐💐💓💓

so if anyone knows them in real life to say how lovely they are

to clear their garden

build furniture

give a van

and £5k to do their house up

I wonder if whole series will be like this - to totally over haul the poor family

and as usual I say with this series I hope we get a catch up a year later

OP posts:

Oh and 90mins long. Used to be an hour

OP posts:
Nevermind17 · 09/02/2026 18:15

To be fair, her 3 days were 12 hour shifts so that alone is full-time hours, plus cleaning on top. But I agree about the house, it seems like it wasn’t a priority. She kept saying “the wallpaper is coming off the walls” but it had obviously been peeled/scraped off, it wasn’t just turning up at the corners. And she was covered in tattoos that must have cost thousands.

And if he is a courier he must have transport. In which case he could easily have got rid of the crap in the garden.

yes, I thought the same about the transport. He could have easily taken it all to the tip. Even though the woman was doing 12 hour shifts, if we were so skint we only had £30 per week for food, I’d work 12 hour shifts 5 days a week if necessary.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/02/2026 19:49

£30 for food for the 3 of them doesn sound right

and yes you would work more shifts

she even said they while he goes down to 25 hr shifts to get business up and running. That she would take on extra shifts

so why not do that before if the skint

The rich son also really annoyed me - so smug and full of himself despite the fact he is just another nepobaby. I did really like both of his parents though - in particular the way they made sure that there was something for her (redecoration) as well as kick starting his business. He is clearly a hard worker though that car valet was immaculate.
