Love this series. Back next Sunday

tho the rich families who own their own business etc - I hope they don’t do the usual ‘free training’ to the poorer families and then get them to start their own companies

I think it's very likely that the rich family have other business to tend to during the week, it's very unlikely they only work at weekends and are lounging around Mon-Friday.
Re the graft in the rich family, I was reading something recently about Indians in the UK being the wealthiest minority and it was down to high educational standards and strong work ethic. That would make sense in the rich family, and well, the poor families on this programme never work very hard!

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/04/2026 17:09

Indeed. Many are part time

Ha love that we are all thinking the same! This has got to be the last series surely?

I get people work part time but a hotel really? 'Hello can I book a long weekend please? No sorry it’s one night minimum stay’ 😁

I still can’t stop thinking the poor family spent £1.2k on a Airbnb

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/04/2026 22:00

its on next week as had a clip at end

Ah ok that makes a bit more sense but not much as working business model for a hotel

purpleme12 · 20/04/2026 22:42

She just stayed in the good air B&B cos they went on the programme to get a luxurious holiday in great accomodation, cos usually it's pretty lovely house on this programme in the rich world. But the hotel room wasn't quite like that reality. So she got the air B&B so she'd have a taste of the rich life. I can understand why she did it cos that's totally why people go on the programme

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/04/2026 23:08

What a waste of money rho

could have found a smaller place and treated her other 2 kids

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 20/04/2026 23:22

I don't think it was a waste of money to her. Sage wanted to stay in a lovely place as a holiday

(But one kid having a present and the others not is a different matter)

I'm only half way through but there's something stunted about the poor family. The 'children' saying they have no money for days out, they look old enough to have part time jobs themselves? They would not be cut out for the responsibility and stress of having their own business.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/04/2026 14:07

I think they were a teenager and 2 young adults

Watched this last night. One of the strangest episodes. The rich family were really nice but I didn’t see them as being that rich if that had to live in a room in their hotel.
The mum in the poor family was a bit odd saying their children couldn’t cope with a few days in a hotel when one of them doesn’t even have a bedroom at home. Spent all their resources on the middle child - what about a laptop for the uni child? I think she really kicked off and the producers agreed a compromise of the air bnb.
It did seem like the rich family threw themselves into it whereas the poor family got an air bomb and home cooked meal. The only rich thing they did was the night out paid for by the rich guy

purpleme12 · 24/04/2026 16:08

It was a strange one I agree

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/04/2026 18:36

Last one tonight e10

wealthy owner of Mr whippy Joe swaps with single mum Steph and her two daughters as both sides go on an emotional journey to learn what really matters in life

I’m in! Even though I say every week I’m not going to watch it again.

Surely he’s not going to fix the floor and damp in a rented house? Why show us that

purpleme12 · 26/04/2026 21:59

I don't understand houses that have more bathrooms than bedrooms

purpleme12 · 26/04/2026 22:19

I'm sorry but out of all the struggles that you could pick out from a 'poor' person's life, walking 20 minutes to the shop in some not so great weather is not one I'd choose. And yet that was what he was saying....

Honestly I just thought how ridiculous

Of course they show us that, they're the only bad bits of the house! 😆

purpleme12 · 26/04/2026 22:54

Why does he automatically make the assumption that she leaves her girls in the car while she does the supermarket shopping and rushes round 😕🤔

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/04/2026 09:32

I’m just watching this now

if she rents then why isn’t the ll sorting out the damp ffs - or the council. Lookalike a council property

an extra bathroom I guess if for visitors who need a wee and downstairs rather then use one that’s en-suite

I thought it was a nicer episode than many of late and that the poor family were more genuine. I couldn't quite get my head around the fact that rich Mr was doing it with a colleague rather than his wife, but wife is well known and the one with the fortune.

I hope the poor family get a genuine upper.

I get that. We are the equivalent of a rich family and v v time poor, except when I'm.f*ing about on MNet. It's another drain when you work 12 hour days and unimaginable.
