tho the rich families who own their own business etc - I hope they don’t do the usual ‘free training’ to the poorer families and then get them to start their own companies

@Blondeshavemorefun well we know Pimlico Plumbers sold for 150m. So, probs £114m after CGT, a 4% return net of tax will be in the low millions, so fuck knows what debt there might have been or what else is being financed if the weekly disposable is only £2k.

He only owned a 10% stake in the plumbers. It was his Dad’s business. The apartment and villa in Marbella are also owned by his father.

Don’t get me wrong, he will no doubt have a few million in the bank but I don’t think he’s quite as rich as he’s claiming to be.

I say this after mini blondes does 4 x a week gymnastics (but she is good at it) but it takes time and money

And the playground. Wow.

I warched it last night and thought it a poor episode. I liked the girl; I thought she was sparky and not impolite. I thought the rich family were very pedestrian and a little shallow.

Good on her for being adventurous and confident enough to want to try caviar.

Why do the poorer families generally have more kids? Also are the parents compelled to stay “poor” due to kids SEN?

They are are prob poorer due to more kids

I have one. Yes sometimes I would like another tho I was also old due to Mother Nature not playing ball and mini blondes is ivf

I def couldn’t do 2 x hobby’s a month or 3 x flights every year

tho the ones who work. Don’t seem to earn much money doing their job - so why don’t they charge more if se ot look for another better paid job

or if in a couple (im middle of device so single parent and do it myself ) why one does t get an evening job of bar work / shelf stacking - waitress etc

I’ve also wondered why they don’t get additional evening jobs. That’s what I did when my children were younger and I was hard up. But if they are on UC, I didn’t know if that would be affected by earning additional income.

One thing doesn't make sense though

At the start they said the 'poor' mum was a trainee teacher (and probably a few times after, like they do) but there was no reference to that whatsoever in the rest of the programme

If she's a trainee teacher it means she will eventually earn an ok amount of money anyway

It was just really odd that there was one sentence about that but nothing after

That garden could easily be sorted to look a bit better by using some shears to cut the weeds back.
