If you enjoyed The Handmaids Tale, will you be watching The Testaments?

I’ve just seen that the release date for The testaments will be 8th April on Disney+
I loved THT, yes it lost its way a little over the seasons, but still a stunning bit of telly.
I’ve read The Testaments a couple of times and I will be watching, anyone else?

I will be. I did think the earlier seasons were great. I’ve read the testaments, quite looking forward to aunt Lydia as her progression arc has been really interesting.

Yep, I can't wait. I've just finished re watching all the previous seasons of THT in readiness.

I had to stop watching Handmaids as it was too stressful and I wasn’t enjoying it. I’ve recently listened to the amazing audiobook of the Testaments and loved it so will definitely start the series. I hope it avoids too much gratuitous violence as that’s what put me off Handmaids as a show.

Well now at least I won’t be on my own! Look forward to discussing the episodes when they drop. The first 3 will be on the 8th and then weekly I believe.

Gutted its on Disney+ might wait until its all dropped and get a free trial.

I'm currently rewatching THT as it started so long ago I couldn't remember everything.
I haven't enjoyed all the decisions that were made. It felt that once they decided to adapt The Testaments they cut out Hannah completely from THT.

I missed off from this that I will be watching The Testaments as I'm really hopeful for a resolution at the end - who knows 😀 I first read THT as a teenager and now I'm early 40s , so it's been part of my life for a long time!

Is that why handmade tales series 6 ended so boring. It was so amazing but series six was not interesting at all. So does that mean testament is about hanna?

It’s been a while but I thought the testaments were Nicole’s story mainly featuring Aunt Lydia who is a ruthless blackmailing type but is now working to bring down gilead.

The book talks a fair bit about pearl girls, young women who act as recruiters / spies abroad. Keen to see the outfits.

THT was so cinematically beautiful, especially the last few seasons with scenes that had an entire song playing following a car or something feeling likna music video.

when is the testament seer, how long after? So June isnt in it anymore?

In the book it’s 15 years after so Nicole has grown up and June wasn’t in it ( I don’t think)
