If you enjoyed The Handmaids Tale, will you be watching The Testaments?

I’ve just seen that the release date for The testaments will be 8th April on Disney+
I loved THT, yes it lost its way a little over the seasons, but still a stunning bit of telly.
I’ve read The Testaments a couple of times and I will be watching, anyone else?

I think it looks really good. It does seem really different to the book though. In the testaments Agnes was training to be an Aunt to avoid being married off to a murderous old perv. I will definitely be watching!

I cant wait. My Disney+ free trial is due to end in a couple of weeks so I'm trying to work out what to cancel in order to keep it. Although DS1 would probably pay for it if I asked him too. He wants to watch The Testaments too

Watched all three episodes yesterday morning... hopeful this will turn into a thread for discussion as loved reading them during The Handmaid's Tale.

Was pleasantly surprised and delighted. After the terrible S6, I feared it being too YA and I would be having to work way too hard to suspend disbelief.

The colours are lighter and brighter (yay!), the music is great and the scoping scenery stuff is still epic. Watched with a friend and we really liked how they kept the same font for the opening titles that made us feel we were continuing in a story we've both loved for a decade!

Unlike THT, you don't need a therapist on speed dial after each episode. Wondering whether that's because THT has desensitized us...as it's all still in there. Definitely hitting the marks on creepy old men, young lust, pitting women against each other etc.

There is a wonderful gasp moment and it's definitely bingeable (unlike THT 1&2).

Only thing that that has had to change, but feels off, is the age difference between Agnes and Nicole.

This sounds positive! I’ve not had a chance to watch yet which is disappointing. I might be able to catch an episode later today or tomorrow but it’s the Easter holidays so I might just have to wait until next week.

I really enjoyed the first three episodes - far more than I enjoyed the book! I believe Daisy's backstory has been changed because the ages can't possibly fit as things stand. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this progresses!

I think they’re changing the plot slightly to still fit (I.e Daisy isn’t the same as who she is within the book) as THT timeline means that doesn’t add up anymore. I’m really looking forward to watching though

possible spoiler: I wonder if Nicole/Holly is therefore going to still be with June’s mum as she was in THT

I probably need to re read The Testsments.
Oh my word but The Handmaid’s Tale was a very hard watch !
Heartbreaking, gruesome and the suspense 😮
And to think that everything that happened in it had really happened to women throughout history. 🥲

Those who have watched the first three: if we didn’t watch the last series of THT, do we need to watch that first?

Have read both books and watched most of THT just not S6. But I suppose if I must…

Just managed to watch the first episode with only 3 interruptions!
Beautifully shot as ever.
Daisy entering as she did, threw me a little. I’ve read TT 2/3 times but I think I can see how it’ll progress.
The head and shoulders shot of the person in the store at the end of the episode - I knew straight away….

Cant wait! Watched all of THT and read The Testaments but will have to wait until it's aired on a different platform 😭 that's unless anyone knows of any Disney+ offers?!
