I’ve just seen that the release date for The testaments will be 8th April on Disney+
I loved THT, yes it lost its way a little over the seasons, but still a stunning bit of telly.
I’ve read The Testaments a couple of times and I will be watching, anyone else?

Bloody loved it. In fact I’ve just restarted as I was in hospital for some of it and kept nodding off. Had to screenshot Margaret’s appearance to send to DD I was so excited. Then she found me sobbing when June found out Daisy was with Agnes.

And oh my goodness, what a star Chase is.

Don't do what I did and listen to The Testaments on audiobook at the same time as watching the TV series . You'll only end up getting yourself all confused 😫

The book was brilliant, loved the ending of The Testaments. But I struggle to see how it can be a similar ending with the TV adaptation. I'll withhold any judgement until its conclusion though.

I’m treating the book and the TV series as two entities now.
THT later seasons veered too far away from TT book.
But, I have enjoyed the series very much. A slow start with glimpses of greatness, the last 2 episodes have had me open mouthed and punching the air. The cinematography has been outstanding as ever, and the soundtrack perfect as always. Roll on S2!

Gonna miss it now it's over

Episode 10 invoked a level of emotional turmoil that I haven't experienced since the early episodes of THT.

I wept.

The baton has truly been handed to the next generation.

I’m only on the episode eoth the ball, I think number 5 so trying to not read the rest of the post yet. Is dairy Junes daughter or not? The internet says no for the series but daisys back story sounded like it was June talking about Nicole?

GreenPaperCut · 02/06/2026 16:39

I know she is in the book but the series she’s the wrong age but is that just overlooked and she is Junes daughter?

PersonIrresponsible · 02/06/2026 17:51

No, she's not June's daughter - that's the only thing that's certain.

There's speculation she arrived via Angel's Flight

We know both her birthday parents are dead.

She was born in Gilead

They want her back

GreenPaperCut · 02/06/2026 22:38

Thanks: I was getting myself wound up woth how to view her. I guess the age of her being born I. Gilead doesn’t fit with timeline of when June did the angel flight

GreenPaperCut · 05/06/2026 15:40

Someone mentioned about her discussion thread if anyone has a link?

There is another thread running, although I’ve not seen it in a while.

I’m enjoying the series so far, it could do with a little more pace though.

I was open mouthed on the last episode, do love a face from the past!

Have you got a link to the other thread? I need to read more! Currently up to the stadium

I found it annoying initially but as the series went on I quite enjoyed the unexpected twists. You can see the bones of Atwood’s novel but events played out in an unexpected way or with a different character.

It adds unpredictability which enhances that dystopian feel.

And your thoughts/answer is?

As Daisy is definitely not Holly/Nicole in the TV version of The Testaments I wondered if she is going to be the daughter of the original Offred (the Handmaid before June who wrote Nolite te bastardes carborundum in the wardrobe). The original Offred had also played Scrabble and been taken to Jezebel's by Fred. Maybe she had been part of Mayday.

I'm pretty sure June doesn't say she knew Daisy's birth parents, only that she knew Daisy's birth parents managed to get her out of Gilead and that's how she ended up with her Canadian parents.

Just rewatched the whole thing as I kept nodding off in hospital. So many small details I missed. Wept through the last episode. Again. Is there any news of when the next instalments will be available.
