yah it’s back. The easy watching murders and guessing which of the usually 4 suspects did it

The 15th season of the beloved, sun-dappled detective show will start airing on 30th January 2026, with the first episode airing at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

We don't yet know much about what will take place in the new episodes, but we do know that Don Gilet will be back as DI Mervin Wilson (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/death-in-paradise-cast/), along with Shantol Jackson as DS Naomi Thomas, Ginny Holder as Officer Darlene Curtis, Shaquille Ali-Yebuah as Officer Sebastian Rose and Elizabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey.

Meanwhile, we're expecting Don Warrington to return as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, after his future on the series was thrown into doubt all through last season. Esp after the Christmas episode

After he decided not to take his job back at the end of season 14, he was seen visiting the UK in the Christmas special.

Coming to realise how important his job and Saint Marie were to him, Patterson was seen calling the chief commissioner at the end of that episode, asking if his role was still vacant (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/death-in-paradise-selwyn-wants-job-back-newsupdate/) and whether he could return to it.

Meanwhile, season 15 is also likely to see Mervin getting to know the brother he never knew he had, after he managed to make contact with him briefly in the Christmas special.

I'm guessing they want us to think it's Solomon or that woman Solomon owes money to. But it's bound to be someone else. Although the "you!" implied us viewers might have seen them before.

Maybe that guy that ran his mum's favourite restaurant that Mervin used to frequent all the time?

I hate the current commissioner treating his inspector as a child

Oh I got my timings wrong and started early! I quite enjoyed that.

I’m not loving the inspector and DS relationship, are they trying to do a ‘will they, won’t they?’.

It was ok. Lovely to see Julian in it

I’m less fond of Catherine as well. They all seem to overvalue appearances over substance and to be very patronising. This is after the shot hit guy episode. The new woman is just wet and insubstantial

Catherine’s arm bangle annoys me

I thought it was fun , so far fetched that the whole thing is ludicrous but Julian was excellent as was the comedy policeman .

I totally agree. DIP is just silly Friday night telly and that’s exactly what this was. The plot was so ludicrous I thoroughly enjoyed the madness of it all.
Julian was good.

I liked that episode. Far fetched nonsense plot-wise obviously, but we expect nothing less!

I think Don Gilet is a great actor, the scenes with Solomon were well played. Julian RT was great, as ever.

I’m liking the Mattie and Seb combo more each week. Seb is getting less annoying, gaining some substance. Mattie is a promising addition I think.
