yah it’s back. The easy watching murders and guessing which of the usually 4 suspects did it

The 15th season of the beloved, sun-dappled detective show will start airing on 30th January 2026, with the first episode airing at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

We don't yet know much about what will take place in the new episodes, but we do know that Don Gilet will be back as DI Mervin Wilson (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/death-in-paradise-cast/), along with Shantol Jackson as DS Naomi Thomas, Ginny Holder as Officer Darlene Curtis, Shaquille Ali-Yebuah as Officer Sebastian Rose and Elizabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey.

Meanwhile, we're expecting Don Warrington to return as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, after his future on the series was thrown into doubt all through last season. Esp after the Christmas episode

After he decided not to take his job back at the end of season 14, he was seen visiting the UK in the Christmas special.

Coming to realise how important his job and Saint Marie were to him, Patterson was seen calling the chief commissioner at the end of that episode, asking if his role was still vacant (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/death-in-paradise-selwyn-wants-job-back-newsupdate/) and whether he could return to it.

Meanwhile, season 15 is also likely to see Mervin getting to know the brother he never knew he had, after he managed to make contact with him briefly in the Christmas special.

The Commissioner is a lot more mellow these days. In the early series he would never hang out at the beach in shorts with his police team.

thought that was a better episode than the last couple.

Caught up. As soon as we saw the door locks we knew it was her. Been done to death!!! The whole episode was entirely predictable unfortunately. I also thought him saying she wouldn’t have stood on the chair in heels a bit odd as my granny did everything in her heels!!!

On the hitman episode - the forensics teams are pretty rubbish - wouldn’t they have figured out the angle of the shot and the gun residue on his hand? And normally they are spot on with time of death (implausibly).

I like the new sergeant but I’m finding the commissioner and the inspector quite tiresome tbh

I’m already bored by Melvin and his brother. I’d rather they concentrate on the stories rather than The personal lives.

Melvin's brother is annoying and obvious.

Although I do enjoy the creativity in Beyond Paradise of recurring character Josh - often dodgy but sometimes heroic

Yes me too. I think series end up with more emphasis on characters' personal lives when they're running short on ideas for stories.

Sadly I think this may be the case with DiP.

My DH reckons that the extra glucose they mentioned in the cherry drink would make the liquid thick so the cyanide wouldn't have mixed in and sat at the top of the bottle so only the victim would have drunk the cyanide.

Must be one of the other two who drunk from the bottle as they would also look like potential victims so perfect alibi.
