Have skipped all today's post as have now watched up to episode 4.
And hope to finish tonight so want to see it all before reading other comments.
Had thought the charity show would be the final part of the last episode, so am wondering where the plot is going.
Do feel that the plot is trying to fit in everyone of the (sadly true) "women's problems" that so many experience.
And the family connections are a bit too overtly tear jerking.
But still think it is good, and better that so much of the 9pm same old same old series that get put on.
I'm wondering why they could give it 8 episodes. It might have let the plot develop more naturally rather than thinking we need to bring in this issue, and then rush on to the next one.
Is it a BBC thing. Blue Lights was only 6.
