So, so sorry for Sarah. Really hope she is getting some support now and this situation is not allowed to reoccur.

Dean can’t even cook! Unfortunately he doesn’t have any redeeming features that would make him a good partner.

I doubt that she is, well not from the show.

Seeing her on Mafs It’s official -the one with Lucinda, Sarah looked like she’d lost weight and had a very ‘put on’ giddy performance.
She was sat next to Charlene though, (the charlatan Ann Summers rep) so yet again wasn’t allowed to express her true feelings

Leisha is even more needy than Nelly.

I don't think Nelly is needy, she just wants Stephen to be pleasant to her and when he went out that night she had just broken a rib and he left her home alone

Pollqueen · 09/10/2025 13:51

FirstCuppa · 09/10/2025 12:26

I completely agree - the friend even looks shiftily at the camera with the realisation that their chat has to be very bland. It's so wrong and very coercive.
I really hope Ofcom do look into the ethics of these shows and stop them. It's chilling viewing and hard to believe it's allowed in 2025.

I wish we could have a show with actual behavioural scientists and psychologists properly matching people and helping them, rather than drama pairings and abusive bullying.

Well that would be very boring 😴

RancidRuby · 09/10/2025 13:52

Yes that isn't her being needy, I'm meaning prior to Steven revealing himself to be a twat.

FirstCuppa · 09/10/2025 13:56

Pollqueen · 09/10/2025 13:51

To be fair it's getting very alarmingly boring that every year they get abusive men on bullying women. There's literally no point to watching it other than showing how to manipulate and abuse other people.

I can't be the only one who would actually like some real experts to advise on how to keep relationships going and advice on lowering walls in a safe way that doesn't involve coercion?

cremello · 09/10/2025 14:15

leo and April's kids will have the best, sharpest jawlines

cremello · 09/10/2025 14:28

April doesn't have a manly voice. She has a deeper feminine voice.

Absolutely. I know it's primarily an entertainment programme, but impressionable young people watch it, so I do think the producers have something of a responsibility to call out problematic behaviour in both sexes. (I will say I liked that Paul gave Maeve advice about raising her self-esteem, though. I think she really needed that.)

I think these reality shows have a MO of picking larger-than-life 'characters' who they can imagine creating 'drama' (Big Brother has been unwatchable for me for years now because of this) but the trouble is, we can all see the drama coming given the personalities involved, and it becomes a bit yawnsome after a while.

Agreed. Tbh given how Steven has shown himself over the past week or so, I think he was probably playing into Nelly's insecurities and making them worse. She really need to dump his ass.

It's way more interesting seeing someone develop healthy habits and change for the better and end up happy than see another angry young man punch a wall and/or expect sex. I mean we get that all the time with the internet and Tate as it is. The market is saturated.

Florencesndzebedee · 09/10/2025 15:02

April and Leo and the other new couple (Italian guy/mad mum woman)seem really well matched. I hope their relationships are a bit more successful than some of the original group. April is very pretty.

Looks like Leigh is going to be as unpleasant as always in the next episode. She has a really unattractive character. Hope Leah leaves. Ditto Nelly, hope her family tell her to run for the hills.

Watching the newest hot dog couple (completely forgotten their names overnight 🫠), it felt like a totally different TV show. It felt calm, natural and full of positivity. It really felt like they were genuine and not there for the 5 minutes of fame. I want to keep them separate from the vacuous dinner parties as I just can’t see them fitting in amongst the chaos.

I agree. Please don’t disappoint us. I’m still scarred by Kieran and Kristina last year. Such high hopes at the start

BatshitCrazyWoman · 09/10/2025 15:43

It's so uncomfortable watching Sarah trying to be 'ok' 🙁

I don't think I've ever found any of the men attractive on either the UK or Australian MAFS. I don't find facial hair, tattoos or overly muscly men attractive at all, which rules out most of them 😂

chaosmaker · 09/10/2025 16:13

Denim4ever · 08/10/2025 22:30

See Bake Off - bad hair, good cooking from the the Irish guy

Can't watch bake off now, the presenters are much too annoying now. Shame cos I like the talented contestants.

ExtraPaddingForFallingOver · 09/10/2025 16:56

I’m appalled by comments about Sarah on FB, I’m going to have to stop reading them.
What I find shocking is that it’s a lot of older women 60+ mums, nans. Comments like ‘disgusting human’ ‘it’s what she deserves’

thank got there wasn’t a camera in my face in the 90’s after a few drinks, having a giggle in the club loos with my mates! We would have been lynched.

She misread the situation, she was too trusting and naive with all that alcohol around

and when are these comment from creepy Dean going to be dealt with “she’s my wife and I can touch her when I want” “it’s not if, but when”
then the incel mate saying “she can’t say what she wants and get away with it”

Pianoaholic · 09/10/2025 17:53

Just watched on catch up.
I am rooting for April and Leo, they seemed great together with a natural chemistry.
I don't understand why people are against Sarah on other forums...I do feel sorry for her and I just can't warm to Dean. He is insincere and does all this rapping etc to cover for his lack of personality.

Plastictreees · 09/10/2025 18:03

I think Sarah is awful, and just needs to leave rather than flogging a dead horse for 5 minutes of fame. She is blatantly disgusted by Dean. Dean is a professional victim and the way he keeps pawing at her when she’s clearly not into it, is gross. They need to have an honest conversation and mutually agree to leave. They’re both a pair of desperados imo, Deans god awful ‘rapping’ and Sarah’s grimacing and whinging about wanting ‘tatts and a tan’. Make it stop.

Hot dogg couple were a breath of fresh air, hopefully it won’t go tits up.

QuickNameChange22 · 09/10/2025 18:08

The more I watch of this programme the more sinister I find it, anyone else? I've been watching season 9 (I only started watching this year so thought I'd go back in time!)

It's quite disturbing the amount of pressure they put on the people taking part to be intimate with someone they barely known. Like Caspar and Emma and Polly and whats-his-face. Neither of the guys fancy their wives, the marriage is dead in the water because without sexual attraction of some kind you've got a friendship. It seems the so called "experts" didn't even try to get someone that ticked any of their physical boxes, then they sit there and berate those people for not wanting to shag someone they're not attracted to 😶 it's so embarrassing because you can see exactly why it won't work but they keep trying to flog a dead horse and get all high and mighty because people have physical preferences. Yuck!

Seems like it's Sarah and Dean this year, they are making Sarah feel awful for not fancying Dean when I bet the majority of the female public wouldn't want to shag him either. And these people keep choosing to stay because they want the publicity and Instagram followers 😡 have some self respect and walk away for Christ sake!

Ok rant over, I feel better now 🤣

Donttellempike · 09/10/2025 18:11

Not sure I’m going to watch any more. It is morally repugnant TBH. I’ve enjoyed the thread, but not sure that’s enough

I remember the first couple of seasons when this first started and they had, I think, only 2 or 3 couples and a team of proper psychologists, not these fake insta ones.

It was not boring, there weren't all the repeats and no drunken dinner parties. The pairs of couples only met up once or twice and, from what I remember, it was an afternoon tea setting in a sunny garden. They lived together properly too, in each other's homes, not a make believe tiny apartment. I remember one woman was in the police and her DH was bored at home, so started hanging out with the DW's mates.

It was a lot more interesting than watching this current ship of fools.

I do wonder if they’re are convincing her to stay, for ratings and all the tittle tattle online. She knows how she will be painted and they might be using that

Yes! I thought that was a dream I had had about the show but it was like that, wasn't it? I wonder why they changed it - was it already aired in US and they shipped over the same standard rather than letting us keep our own professionals?

I remember when they announced they'd be changing the format to the aussie style version and I thought, nah, I'll not be watching it anymore, yet here I am. Hmm

Yes there is a sense of trying to ‘redeem’ herself, and the ixperts obsession with forced intimacy really isn’t helping. I hope Sarah does leave asap, for her own sake.
