There are many emotive subjects in the world and if people are silenced or labelled strongly, with such words as bigot. How will there ever be progression? Silencing what you don’t want to hear, does not make it go away

They don’t formally invite people to swap but sometimes people who didn’t like their “assigned spouse” have chosen to link up with someone else who was in another couple that clearly failed .

I’m terrible with names but a couple of years ago there was a tattoo man who jumped ship from the redhead he was with to this really slim woman who didn’t like the guy she was with. They were officially recoupled.

And there was Hannah who had what turned out to be a short fling with the man in another couple, after her husband rejected her after a fight on the honeymoon - but it was nothing official.

Personally I don’t see any of that happening this year but you never know.

It's not ok to peg someone as potential Trans and therefore mock and deride which is what was happening in several posts. It's also not ok to assume everyoe agrees with that stance. Some.people are very uncomfortable with the casual abuse that is sent in that direction. It is their right to voice that.

Mumsnet, in fairness, is full of it and I hoped this thread would be welcoming to anyone and everyone who wants to cringe along with us as we gaze in wonder at the shiny tripe that is MAFS. God knows Trans people dont have to look far for nasty posts and comments. Could we have some threads that aren't on that same old train.

I think it would just be nice to have a thread whereby trans people aren’t brought up in a derogatory fashion at all, therefore no one would be called a transphobe or a bigot. Just a thought.
