I've caught up on the first 3, enjoying it so far. Why wasn't Aisling offered counselling?

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/10/2025 15:43

I’m disappointed we didn’t see more from Aisling going into the house!

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/10/2025 22:23

Yes I had hoped for me tho mum hugged her and dad gave her names

I was a little confused why Annie couldn’t go to her mum’s funeral. Who would have killed her /why was it dangerous

The wreath with a bullet was a threat.

The police found out there was a threat against Annie from the IRA. Her senior officer (can’t remember her name) said she had had a personal threat too in the past so sympathised.
ETA yes, the wreath with the bullet.

sittingonabeach · 20/10/2025 22:34

Think I cry in nearly every episode

snemrose · 20/10/2025 22:47

As an aside - there is a really good documentary on iplayer called Once Upon a time about the Troubles. It really brought home to me (in my 40’s) how little we had been educated about the war and how much propaganda we had shoved down our throats in the 80s and 90s e.g Brits = good and Irish = bad. It is quite shocking in hindsight. Has anyone from the ROI or NI seen it? What did you think?

There is also one called once upon a time in Iraq too that is well worth a watch.

I’m from Belfast & watched it, thought it was great, very representative of my experience growing up in the 80s & 90s. It annoyed me at the end though as it acted like the GFA solved everything & quite clearly omitted the Omagh bomb which happened only a few months afterwards.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/10/2025 23:26

Ah the bullet. Thanks. I read that in the recap as well

A bullet in a completely black wreath. 😥

snemrose · 21/10/2025 01:26

Annie looks like Sophie Ellis Baxter - does anyone else see it?

Yes - they have the same face shape, don't they?

Yes - glad it’s not just me!

BIWI · 21/10/2025 08:50

I’ve noticed that everything is blue again! Next time you watch, just look at the decor as well as the tones of the light. In one scene yesterday (can’t remember whose room/house it was), all the accessories were blue - plant pots, picture frames, etc

butterpuffed · 21/10/2025 14:43

I thought the actress playing Grace was brilliant when she was talking to Lindsay , made me cry .

This programme just gets better and better .

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/10/2025 17:56

Yes Grace revealing some of her childhood makes sense to how she is
