The synopsis for season 3 says: "Two years into their jobs as response officers, Grace, Annie and Tommy are accustomed to life under the blue lights.

"But their work will take them into a sinister world hidden behind the veneer of middle-class life, the world of the accountants and lawyers who facilitate organised crime.

I loved the ‘ask Angela’ bit

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/10/2025 10:32

Was a very good episode. It was obvious hubby was dodgy and sad as a copper

tho wouldn’t he have sussed the Angela comment ?

I didn't twig until Aisling pointed it out. I suppose because it was out of context - I associate it with pubs/bars.

I clocked Angela straight away & mentioned it to my DH but he hadn’t noticed it at all. I also think as Aisling isn’t a million miles away from Angela, it makes it likely her husband wouldn’t notice.

Yes lucky a mixed sex couple on the beat

and both names A

I don’t understand why it’s so much better than everything else! Not that I’m complaining (and I am enjoying Riot Women too) but it’s head and shoulders above most TV. I also love the realism. I noticed Aisling wearing an ordinary nighty in a bog-standard flat and it’s just so normal.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/10/2025 22:11

It’s just normal

Wondering if we will find out what happens to the abusive husband or whether his arrest marked the end of that subplot.

deeahgwitch · 16/10/2025 08:41

Oh the tension !!!!
My heart was in my mouth when the white van was travelling towards Annie’s home.
That poor plumber.

Oneearringlost · 16/10/2025 09:07

Im wondering whether Aishling is developing a "Saviour Complex", not in a messianic or narcissistic way, but just the way the death of the boy affected her?
She was clearly profoundly moved at being there at the moment his soul fled his body, so to speak, and could do nothing to stop it, although, recognised that it was beautiful.

And although her instincts were spot on, with nasty, abusive cop man, boss woman wasn't wrong in describing it as "vigilante" behaviour. I wonder whether her behaviour is expressing a need to atone for what she sees as a failure to save the boy?
Her performance, when she went back, a second time to see the boy's parents was beautifully underplayed and poignant.

Nope - he’s called Tommy

I think the poster meant both Aisling and Angela start with A, so it was more plausible in the eyes of the DH that she should 'confuse' Aisling with Angela than if she'd said 'Angela' when the other name was nothing like it.

Oh, name A and ANGELA it could’ve been Diane FIONA GEORGINA but began with an A

So her husband was a cop and wife beater. I hope he goes to prison and has to bend over for soap

Yeah, I noticed the very unsexy nightie too . Thought I recognised the Irish shop it comes from. I did laugh at the poor plumber having to say that he "was after pisshing meself " .
Don't want to rewind but can anyone update on the Tina and informant handler relationship?

Checking for car bombs a regular thing for ages. Used to have a mirror on a long pole to check under cars . Also use them in Dublin when dealing with drug cartels. Even CAB officials might be advised to do it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/10/2025 12:00

It must be so scary having to check under a car every time you get in to it.

I can’t imagine living that way and thank God I don’t have to

It’s just your normal @Blondeshavemorefun, so it’s not particularly scary, just something you do. You do need to have your wits about you more than the average person, but life isn’t frightening per se.

And if you forgot and in a rush …..

It’s only police who have to fear (or judges, soldiers / anyone representing the British establishment), not your average person on the street.

It’s not something you ever forget.
