The Guest, the upcoming BBC thriller starring Eve Myles, has unveiled a devilish new trailer.

The four-part series (https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/a65286088/the-guest-first-look-bbc/) sees the Broadchurch (https://www.digitalspy.com/broadchurch/)and Torchwood (https://www.digitalspy.com/torchwood/) star portray Fran, a business owner who is thrust into a "toxic and beguiling" relationship with one of her employees, Ria (Gabrielle Creevy).

The Guest is a hugely entertaining, deftly plotted thriller that will have viewers gripped," said Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, while Nick Andrews, Head of Commissioning for BBC Cymru Wales, dubbed it a "a twisty-turny edge of your seat thriller".

Seemed to be a block of flats that were being refurbished or something, they were squatting there. Ria freaked out when she saw workmen through the window.

We haven't seen any evidence that this business actually exists at all. Wouldn't be at all surprised if it was just a charade.

It's Rhossili beach. Been there twice and walked the length and breadth of it - stayed in the campsite.

I wasn't expecting that was half expecting the posh lady to try it on with Ria. Thought the sister was very rude expecting a cup of tea like that.

It’s because Ria is seen as ‘the help’.

Reminds me of the scene in Frasier when Mel says she knows how get a coffee and then orders Daphne to make it, followed by an insincere ‘just joking’.

I don’t think anyone’s mentioned the bit of dialogue in which Ria mentions to her useless boyfriend that they’re hiding from someone and she is worried about what will happen if they are found. There was no subsequent mention of this in the rest of the first episode. I’ve never known so many plot threads being set up in a series opener before.

Did I dream this or did it happen- early on did the husband call Fran a different name, she corrected him but Ria heard it ?
Are Ria and useless boyfriend squatting - is that why they worried about being found ?
I thought the car was an old Fiat Cinquecento. I don’t live in the UK and can’t figure out your car registration.
In Ireland if you bought a new car now the reg would be 252D and a number. The 25 because it’s 2025 and the 2 because it’s the second half of the year.
The necklace didn’t go with the dress.
If it was real gold I thought the necklace was nice but if was gilt there was too much of it. I couldn’t tell from the telly.

That's a good point. I was thinking, Fran looks dodgy, has she really got a pile like that and a business, is that guy even her husband, etc. But the sister turning up like that made Fran look a lot more credible. Unless that was all a sham too, but surely that'd be going too far?

Maybe Fran doesn’t own the house either, she’s the PA and her/her husband live in the guest annex. Owners are away and they’re playing house.
