As the title says really! We’ve had a run of good box sets and can’t find the next thing to watch.

Watched and loved Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, The Bear, Sucession, Slow Horses - basically all the ‘peak tv’ obvious suggestions one or both of us have watched. Sitcoms are good, The Office, Parks & Rec etc are all favourites. Hate anything involving dragons, women in bustles etc.

We’ve got Netflix, prime, Disney+ and Apple TV plus the free services like iPlayer and whatever the channel 4 one is called these days so we aren’t short of services to chose from, we just can’t find something that’s grabbing us and making us want to sit down night after night to binge it.

For a quick binge over an evening Loch Ness was good

just watched the first series of the jury on Netflix. British series from the early 00’s but I can’t remember it. Was really good.

Oh I loved this first time round! Must have a look on Netflix for it.

Just read all these recommendations as also looking for something new to watch with DH. We both don't believe there'll ever be anything as good as Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Seen all of Stranger Things and liked that. Also absolutely loved One Piece..watched it about 5x with DS! Tried watching the first one of the Assassin as I love Freddie Highmore in the Good Doctor but couldn't see past him being an autistic doctor and didn't like it.

Yes we've started watching that. Worryingly we soon realised that we did in fact watch it before 😅. Still we can't remember much of what happened so are rewatching.

I think it used to be called the Loch

The Fall (has the Jamie dude from Fifty Shades in it) I've watched ALOT of crime dramas and that is my number 1!

I've watched way too much Netflix and yet now I can't remember the names of anything!

Dexter Resurrection is really good, it's only on weekly though, best thing I have seen for ages

MrsLargeEmbodied · 02/08/2025 08:42

the first 2 series of The Bear were excellent
the 3rd a duff
the 4th getting slightly better than 3
imo
Queens Gambit was good

The Narrow Road To The Deep North on iplayer. Harrowing but fascinating. The Jury series 1 and 2 on Netflix.

Oh my goodness I’m watching this… its good but hard to watch in parts. Highly recommend if you can cope with the brutality.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 02/08/2025 09:31

Until I kill you was very good

begone25 · 02/08/2025 18:09

The Sopranos. When my DH suggested it at first I was like how boring 🥱 but I was hooked and watched the series twice and about to start it again. I used to be in to Rom-Coms but now I love Gangster and Mafia stuff.

Edited

I've rewatched it multiple times. Done the tour met Vito spatafore. Lovely guy. Got my husband into it so I could rewatch it through fresh eyes. He now has rewatched multiple times too

Please can we keep details off threads like this?! Some of us are still trying to watch things without being spoilered to death.

Yes this was good. Anna Maxwell-Martin was good in this.

Unilaterallyinsane · 02/08/2025 23:06

Ozark is brilliant.

BebbanburgIsMine · 03/08/2025 00:01

My only recommendations on threads like these are,

The Last Kingdom
Vikings
Vikings Valhalla.

I don’t watch a lot of other tv, so I just watch these repeatedly.

The Last Kingdom is my favourite, the best show that has ever been on tv.
