Thought I’d sound the KLAXON and round everyone up for some Strictly chat about possible/rumoured contestants. They usually start announcing soon!

I’ve heard Dani Dyer, Stacey Solomon, Ashley Cain and Tom Parker Bowles

yes, old. over half of them are 45+

So far there are only 2 that are under 30, that being Ellie and Dani.

usually my favourites are people I’ve never heard of before, so I don’t really mind how many I know.

I do wonder if Wynne and Amy would have been a better pairing in hindsight 👀
I can see Dianne and Paul having a laugh and she did win last year, even though Chris was a novice. But I know longer know whether they try and share out duffers/ringers/age/potential etc as Vito has had three good partners in a row.

And, of course, Bill proved you can smash it as a non-ringer, with hard work and rhythm on your side. And the goddess known as Oti.

Karen hasn't had a ringer since Will Young and look how that turned out. Chucky was good but not a ringer per se. She did wonders with Chris and Jamie though so am interested in who she gets (I don't have anyone for her so far).

Is it better for the pros to be benched or to end up with a first boot? Aside from some the internet's aversion to Neil, I genuinely don't know how popular the pros are, in terms of numbers/followers or how successful their individual tours are.

I'm guessing Vito and Nikita are popular and Katya still has a loyal fan base. Lauren had many last year questioning why she was benched/ do not know if her subsequent success with JB wins her a partner again this year or not.
We appear to have a surplus of women this year and no male reserve? Unless it ends up not to be a 7-7 split and Chris in same-sex partnership.

The pros are not getting any younger 👀

Gavin Henson was 28 when he did so will be interesting how Chris fares. At 6ft 2, he's likely to be with Luba or Nadiya.

Exactly! Can’t believe he last played for England before Covid. In my head it was post. Also he used to date someone my cousin knows and they’re slightly younger than me. So was going off that thought he would be more 35/36.

Re the "old" comments: I've taken @SequinsandSoleros numbers and came up with the following:

Mean average age is 41
Median is 38
Modal age group is 30 - 39

I think the age distribution is about right.

God, I hope not - waltzing to the Neighbours theme tune just gives me the ick, especially if Di or Amy lay on the twee. Horrendous.
