Thought I’d sound the KLAXON and round everyone up for some Strictly chat about possible/rumoured contestants. They usually start announcing soon!

I’ve heard Dani Dyer, Stacey Solomon, Ashley Cain and Tom Parker Bowles

Just announced Balvinder Sopal. She’s off Eastenders, which I don’t watch so have never heard of her. They always have someone off EE.

I ve not watched for ages but anytime she is on something as herself she seems fun and a nice woman.

Not sure about dani. But at least I know who she is, sadly means we will see a lot of Danny dire

I'd like to see someone other than Aljaz or Kai dance with the 'mature' woman. Nikita?

Nicola Roberts just announced as joining cast of Hadestown from Sept so no strictly for her.

Listening to radio one now, the next announcement might be on there 👀👀

Same. I used to watch but haven’t seen it in about 20 years except for the odd clip here and there.

I like this cast so far though !

I also haven’t watched Eastenders in years so don’t know who Balvinder Sopal is but looking forward to “getting to know ” her in the coming months

So glad about Alex Kingston signing! I still remember her fabulous performances in Moll Flanders and ER. Backing her. Please let her not be paired with Neil or she's a goner. But who else for the older lady? I assume not Kai again this year. Is Aljaz confirmed to return?

Don't know the others but that's usual for me!

She will be too tall for Neil.
Aljaz is still back.
He looked knackered last year, but I shall forgive him as they had the best showdance.
I wouldn't mind if Alex had Julian tbh but he may be used for a younger contestant, as he and Kai are the youngest. Less keen for Nikita but that's because he put me off him in celeb BB, so I don't care who he gets. He's 5ft 11 although I always thought he was shorter.

I don't watch EE. They usually do okay but there have been notable exceptions (Kath/Kat).
Balvinder is 5ft 4. I think she might end up with Vito?

@Holluschickie the prospect of Alex getting Neil hadn’t occurred to me and now I’m really hoping this won’t happen 😩

Balvinder -Vito. Would prefer Carlos.

She's one of the tallest taking part and he's the shortest pro.
Can't see it myself unless they are really hoping her popularity offsets his and are going for two redheads together.

Didn't realise Alex was tall. Hopefully no Neil then..Could be Johannes though?

I know, I know there’s a strong contingent on the threads that doesn’t like people being negative about Neil but I just find him so attention seeking

@Coffeeishot she is something of a BBC darling at the moment, but does she have too much on? Dani Dyer has 3 under 5 though and she’s taking it on.
