We love a ch5 drama. Usually unbelievable but fun to watch

A chilling new drama series is coming to Channel 5 in the coming weeks, with none other than Sir David Suchet in one of the leading roles.

The new series is coming to Channel 5 on Monday 10th March at 9pm, as it promises to delve "into the complexities of family, trust and hidden truths, against the backdrop of the picturesque British countryside".

Episodes will air across four nights, with the finale airing on Thursday 13th March at 9pm.

The Au Pair would air on the channel, telling the story of a diabetic father (Agatha Christie's Poirot star Suchet) who moves next door to his daughter Zoe (Beyond Paradise (www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/beyond-paradise-season-3-bbc-release-date/)'s Sally Bretton).

But when Zoe hires French au pair Sandrine (Ludmilla Makowski), she triggers an unsettling shift in the household.

Sally Bretton, of Not Going Out, Death in Paradise and Beyond Paradise fame, is leading the cast as mother-of-two Zoe Dalton. David Suchet plays her father George.

Vera's Kenny Doughty plays Zoe’s husband Chris. Lupin's Ludmilla Makowski is Sandrine, the "beguiling young French woman", who Zoe hires as an au pair.

Zoe is a woman who appears to have everything: a handsome and successful husband, two adorable stepchildren and a stunning home in a beautiful English town.

But, you guessed it, everything is about to go wrong for Zoe.

Yes, Zoe makes the unwise decision to hire Sandrine as an au pair. She's described as a young French woman who "triggers an unsettling shift in the household, as instincts and suspicions arise, hinting at hidden agendas and long-concealed truths".

The makers also hint that not everything is as it seems in Zoe's marriage. And that the couple are facing marital issues, while Zoe's dad George moving in next door further complicates life.

I didn't watch the Sally Lindsay drama about the con artist or whatever that was.
I think it's still on line so I'll have to try and find it

It might not have been ' the teacher' but I do remember the Pauline character and Sheridan smith being in the episode with the curtain in the kitchen.
I'll have to do a bit of detective work I think

Well I am watching at TV pace and loved it so far. Don’t have to think too much like some dramas .Easy to follow. I thought it was quite edge of your seat stuff and didn’t think it was the best thing to be watching before sleeping. The Aupair seemed to be the same sort of character as Maeva from Made in Chelsea. Can turn the charm on but very dramatic !

Going by IMDB ' the teacher ' with Sheridan Smith does have a character in it called Pauline and it was filmed in Hungry , but it was meant to be West Yorkshire!
Only four episodes and was originally on channel five in 2022.
(There is another season of it which has passed me by and that was with Kara Tointon)

Binge watched all 4 episodes today, I loved it.

I’ve put Love Rat on my to watch list, along with Cuckoo which keeps being advertised in The Au Pair ad breaks.
I recently watched both series of The Teacher.

This is hilarious . Amber's feet dangling over the edge of the wheelbarrow thing .

And also when Amber rushed away from Saltrine into the house and there was Saltrine suddenly behind her with that wooden board !

Channel 5 at its best . What was David Suchet thinking , hadn't he read the script 😂

Anyone else think the dad is quite hot 😂. I thought he might have something to do with his daughters friend being pregnant. I knew there was something dodgy about him when he was angry with her friend in the garden, seemed a total character shift

I've watched the first 2 minutes

It's in French with no subtitles?

Now I don't watch normal tv without subtitles because everyone mumbles. And I've never watched channel 5 before - does anyone know if the French part stops quickly or if there's a button to turn subtitles on

Did Zoe's partner maybe afford his huge house by selling babies and doesn't want it revealed by Sandrine?
