I'm in tears. Maybe I'm just emotional but can't believe how much the show means to me

And the ending... tidy!

No, I can’t find his name anywhere either. Not on imbd , Wikipedia etc

Stewart Scudamore. He seems to do a lot of voiceover work.

That’s the guy that played Clayton - it’s the actor who played Sonia’s dad that we can’t figure out

Oh! Sorry - misread!

Watched the documentary today and my goodness it was just lovely. I’m feeling quite bereft though - it feels so sad that there will never be any more. I felt that way after the finale on Christmas Day, but this documentary just sealed it. It feels like we’ll never see the cast talking about it again really either.

They did explain it though they said it would be awful to see Nessa telling Smithy to take out the bins etc
As much as I loved Gavin and Stacy I think it's come full circle it's a fabulous show but imo I think it's best left where it is
Obviously there is potential for spin offs but they are generally never as good as the original.

Oh actually I didn’t 😄

Oh I totally agree - it was the perfect ending and I am glad it ended that way and wouldn’t want them to continue it and ruin it as it were. I agree that it ended in the right way and couldn’t continue.

It’s really the end of an era though and that’s what I’m a little sad about. Knowing that there’s nothing more to come is sad because the writing is so good, the characters are beloved and it’s such comfort/comedy viewing. I’ll still watch and rewatch the re-runs plenty, but we’ll never get that “oh my christ” moment again.

both characters were mentioned, but it’s Sonia’s dad that we can’t see listed anywhere - don’t know who he is.

I also mentioned that Stewart Scudamore was familiar to me in the show but when I looked him up there was nothing I would have recognised him from.

The actor who plays Sonia’s dad doesn’t seem to be named anywhere though and both myself and a PP recognised him but have no idea who he is

Yes I get that I was also a massive fan of friends and I think they went on a little to long
But with Gavin and Stacy although it's the end of an era if they did another it would spoil it imo

Tbh I can’t see either Ruth or Anna MM giving him the time of day if he were the sort to be rude to waiters etc. but obviously I don’t know.

Absolutely. They both come across as strong, no bullshit and principled type of women - Anna MM's recent interview on R4 was particularly impressive - and I just don't think they'd be friends with him if he was as bad as the press make out. I do think he can probably be arrogant at times and I'm sure he's said and done things he regrets, but I don't think it's as black and white as the media make it out to be.

He looked like Phil Redmond.

MyOtherProfile · 03/01/2025 08:07

The Clayton actor looks like the guy who did finger bobs and Ness's dad looks like Nick Cotton. So I think I found them familiar because they look like other people.

JC was rude to waiting staff on two separate occasions, two years ago. It’s no big deal. He also apologised. There has generally been no bad publicity about him for a long time.

christmashelp24 · 03/01/2025 09:23

The JC story I can’t get over is the one of him ignoring his wife and baby on a flight. I don’t think he’s a nice man at all.

Well if his wife and child can get over it I'm.not sure why you can't?It was no doubt one person's interpretation of a situation blown out of all proportion.

Yea absolutely no one knows if this is actually true. One person Apparently saw something. Who knows what actually hapoened .

Dontlletmedownbruce · 03/01/2025 15:08

Exactly. Context is everything. Maybe they had a massive row and ignoring each other was the best way forward. Maybe he was worried about jet lag and needed to rest on the flight because he had an extremely busy stressful day ahead and they were just checking into a hotel and chilling out. In the overall scheme of things it's such a silly thing to dislike a person over.

Some people think celebrities aren't allowed to have off days. No-one is in a good mood 100% of the time.

Also every chance it never actually happened

Totally agree. I was hoping for a death

That’s a bit morbid!

Im actually glad the series had a nice ending.
