So this as usual will be tv paced

Slightly confused with the story. Doesnt take much with me

So someone killed Edie in real life but is hiding /in a cartoon /game and they have to find out who A is - can't spell their name

Not sure also if strike following the man who then started fighting with no. Till pretended to call for back up

Well I thought that was great, really enjoyed it, I'm looking forward to tomorrow's! I didn't think Strike looked as attractive as usual not sure why...

I think it’s that fitted green jacket and baseball cap combo.

I enjoyed that too, but agree the tight short jacket and baseball cap did not suit him.

Hopefully it is just a disguise for that job 😬

This is probably shallow of me but it looked like Strike had a fuller face when in the previous series, you could see his cheekbones and he seemed more chiselled

Well it was a good start, but I thought the acting in the scene where they got hired was spectacularly bad by the guys playing Edie’s uncle and the one making the film. It seemed very strange! And how creepy was the life model, staring at her like that?

Yes he a was weird. Tho funny abs can draw a hand but not a Willy 😂

She probably didn’t want to be looking at it when he was staring at her. Hands are much safer!

I really enjoyed it! Why was the bald chap lurking around Strike??

I imagine it is both a disguise and supposed to make him less attractive and less noticeable.

The bald guy was in the alt-right comedian's "cell" wasn't he?

I think Strike is supposed to have lost some weight for health reasons but that might not be till the next book.

On early appearances, I think the narrative may benefit from having been pared down to fit into four hours of television.

As a complete newbie to both the TV series and the book, DH and I were able to understand and enjoy the first episode. If anyone else wants to join! There’s enough exposition about who Cormoran is though obviously we don’t know what we don’t know.

DH and I like it but kept saying “he’s no Ludwig”, you know how much I loved Ludwig @Blondeshavemorefun 😂

I am intrigued by the story and look forward to the discussion each week. I thought the agency worker was a bit suspect, I thought maybe she’d sent herself or got pretended she was sent to work especially as he says he cancelled. She
was just too keen to work and go above and beyond sorting the mess out . Tansy is probably a false lead, how would she have heard anything through the sound proofed windows and doors or seen anything in the dark

I love love loved the red and gold sequin dress Lula Landry is wearing at the beginning.

It's very good. I felt the author was so authoritative in this book about obsessive/crazy fan behaviour! All the chat room scripts did not render well in the book though- I couldn't even read them properly on my kindle - obviously the TV adaptation can't cover them in detail, thank goodness.

Oh no! We watched it on iplayer and pressed play on the front page “new series”. But it must have played series 1 episode 1!
