Yep. A fallout with Taylor Sheridan…he was notably absent from the premiere too.

Love Kevin and quite enjoyed the early stuff but really couldn't get past season 2 , too cringey and boring. Wondering whether to pick up again, does it get better?

Me. I can’t wait. I think they will still talk about JD but he just won’t be around. In the last episode he said he was needed in Helena. I suspect that’s where he will be referred to with the rest of the season at the ranch and also may be a wee preview of the 6666.

Currently rewatching it all again. Go back because a lot of the story makes sense after S3. Why Beth is the way she is etc.

Totally with you in needing a Rip fix! So excited for tomorrow, husband said I'm weird because I said I hope it's cold enough to put the fire on when we watch it 😂

Watched it when it came out last night (I'm in the US). I thought it was good, loved all the scenic shots, it's a beautiful country.

I saw the same spoiler but it is a deeper storyline than you might expect.

I'm watching now. So happy it's back. I binged it previously though and now it's week to week

so here are my thoughts: I was annoyed I’d seen a spoiler before I watched it so I knew that we were going to see the death of John Dutton. That wasn’t such a surprise but obviously the suicide angle had made a little little confused at the start. I assumed it would be Jamie and the woman from Market equities who would be behind it…. the producer of the show is calling it a ‘brave move’ by Taylor Sheridan to immediately get the death of JD out of the way, but to me it seemed a little petty? But this is the last season so I guess as it’s his train set, he can do what he likes. As predicted by a PP the 6666 ranch featured heavily which obviously opens up the storyline with I assume Jimmy and the occupants of that ranch? IRL It is Taylor Sheridan‘s personal ranch and I know there was some controversy about him using the ranch for filming previous scenes and offsetting quite a lot of his own costs against production. Again, I guess if it’s your train set you can do whatever you like? Paramount do seem to have placed a lot of eggs in the Taylor Sheridan basket - let’s hope he is careful crossing roads!

I was really surprised to see how much Tate had grown up! The voice! I’m usually a big fan of Kelly Riley, but it did seem quite hammy at the start. Naturally, I was chuffed a bit with just how much Rip action we got 🤣.

My prediction is that Jamie will have a change of heart and try and reconcile with Beth and Kasey in order to preserve the ranch for his son.

I don't think it WAS petty to kill off John, where else could it really have gone? Pretend he's just sitting inside the house? It wouldn't work. Loved all the scenic stuff. Bosque Ranch got featured as well, another TS property. He seems to have a lot of freedom from Paramount.

I meant petty to kill him off at the very start of the series and within the first couple of scenes? We’d already had to suspend belief that he beat bowel cancer with zero chemo or other cancer treatment…

Overall I did enjoy the episode tho.

I suppose there had been a lot of speculation about what they were going to do so in the end they answered straight out of the gate, get it out of the way and have the storyline be Beth, Kayce and Rip vs Jamie and his shadowy associates

They couldn’t really do anything else with John could they? Although I’m annoyed that he featured in the trailer for the new series and that was what we got.
Tate’s voice threw me at first.
love Beth, and the end was touching with her and rip, almost like she could finally let it out now he was back.

also, was there some significance with Lloyd in the opening scene?
