It is going through South America.

"The four new famous faces embarking on an epic 12,500 km race of a lifetime are:
Broadcaster Jeff Brazier and his son, Freddy
Actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin, Mary Ellen
Broadcaster Kelly Brook and her husband, Jeremy
Radio 2 host Scott Mills and his husband (then fiancé), Sam"

"Their journey begins in Belém, Northern Brazil - the gateway to the Amazon - and will pass through five checkpoints across the length of South America, to reach the finish line in the Andes, Frutillar in Southern Chile."

Braziers stop talking

StarryDance · 18/09/2024 21:30

That nightsky, wow

HoHoHoliday · 18/09/2024 21:34

Sorry if this has already been asked - I haven't read the full thread (apologies).
How are they managing it when they pay other people to buy tickets online? The contestants have no devices so if others buy tickets online they have nothing to forward the tickets to and presumably no way of printing either.

HoHoHoliday · 18/09/2024 21:35

Oh I think Kelly and Jeremy just answered my question...

SwedishEdith · 18/09/2024 21:41

The scenery is this episode is breathtaking. Love a cable car. But those roads and that night sky. Other than the scenery though, South American cities look like they would feel very European. My eldest toured around South America pre-Covid. In my ignorance, when she said she was travelling around on buses, I was imagining them as a lot more basic than these.

NCTDN · 18/09/2024 21:51

Why don't they leave their bags?!!

Halsall · 18/09/2024 21:51

Ugh, I hate this bit ☹️

Fordian · 18/09/2024 21:54

I really didn't warm to Scott.

Alpolonia · 18/09/2024 21:55

Me neither. He’ll be unbearable on the radio tomorrow.

jay55 · 18/09/2024 21:55

Booooo. Boooooooo.
Can't believe the miserable one won.

It was a stunning week. I loved Chile when I went there and want to go back to see more now.

NCTDN · 18/09/2024 21:56

How much later was kola?

Halsall · 18/09/2024 21:56

I really wanted Kola and Mary to win.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 18/09/2024 21:56

Scott was dull

Fordian · 18/09/2024 21:56

I thought his 'story' would be presented as more 'likeable'. It wasn't.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 18/09/2024 22:01

At least Jeff and Freddie didn't win

mightyducks · 18/09/2024 22:02

Freddie and Jeff didn’t even try and win in that last leg, found it a bit odd

Newgirls · 18/09/2024 22:13

I wonder if Jeff and Freddie hadn’t gone to the springs they might have got an earlier bus? Even if Kelly’s bus hadn’t broken down I’m not sure they could have made up a day.

great show loved it!

Conniethecatapillar · 18/09/2024 22:46

Glad others didn't warm to Scott 🤣

How much later was kola?

About 3 hours

Yes I found that strange too, and thought Freddie seemed quite subdued on this leg. He seems a lovely young man and I hope he finds his path in life.

I was pleased with the winners, I like Scott and really warmed to Sam. I liked all of them tbf! Kola made me laugh out loud a couple of times tonight, loved his comment about what makes a lake want to leave Grin

mrswhiplington · 18/09/2024 23:20

I laughed when Kola said to Mary Ellen "for someone out of breath you talk a lot".😄I wanted them to win but didn't mind Scott and Sam. Really enjoyed this series.

BeaLola · 18/09/2024 23:46

How did Scott and Sam make £70 ish making a couple of hotdogs ? They said they only had a couple of hours free to earn - seemed a massive amount to earn

Cardinalita90 · 18/09/2024 23:53

Loved this series! Classic tortoise and the hare in the end. Couldn't understand why Jeff and Freddie didn't make use of their high budget and pay for a taxi some of the way after they ended up in that random city after Santiago.

I wonder if the pairs with the smaller budgets ultimately felt more able to take gambles that paid off and those that had protected their budgets more were ironically more risk averse🤔

MrsLargeEmbodied · 19/09/2024 04:19

Kelly and Jeremy were about 21 hours behind Scott and Sam!
it was a difficult leg the final leg

DH and I said exactly that! Seemed a bit suspicious to me.
