On for 6w on Sunday at 9pm

This thread is tv paced !!!!

This brand-new six-part thriller, starring Jing Lusi and Richard Armitage, promises nerve-wracking plot twists, heart-stopping performances, and a compelling narrative that spans continents. Set to premiere on ITV1 and ITVX on the 21st of April, here's why Red Eye should be at the top of your must-watch list...

Red Eye kicks off with an adrenaline-fuelled opening that sets the tone for the rest of the series. Dr. Matthew Nolan (Richard Armitage), after a near-death experience in Beijing, finds himself entangled in a web of accusations upon his return to London.

Arrested for a murder he insists he didn't commit, Nolan's life spirals into chaos.

The plot thickens when DC Hana Li (Jing Lusi), tasked with escorting Nolan back to China, discovers a murder on their flight, unraveling a series of events that suggest a deeper, more sinister plot at play.

One of Red Eye's most compelling features is its unpredictability. With a storyline that introduces twist after twist, viewers are kept on the edge of their seats, guessing what could possibly happen next.

Each episode peels back layers of intrigue, revealing geopolitical tensions and sinister forces that suggest no one can be trusted.

The series boasts an array of famous faces, delivering strong performances that bring depth and complexity to their roles.

Jing Lusi's portrayal of DC Hana Li is both compelling and nuanced, presenting a character whose determination and grit are matched only by the mysteries she faces.

Richard Armitage's Dr. Matthew Nolan is equally captivating, offering a glimpse into the psyche of a man fighting to clear his name while navigating a labyrinth of lies and deception.

Red Eye is both pacy and frenetic, mirroring the urgency and danger that the characters face, and this rapid tempo ensures that there's never a dull moment, with each episode drawing the viewer deeper into the unfolding conspiracy.

Helping to further bolster the series are its high production values and striking visuals – the international setting of the series, spanning from the bustling streets of Beijing to the imposing presence of London's Heathrow Airport, provides a rich backdrop for the narrative.

When RA was strip(?) searched, did anyone else think that they would check where he had been stabbed?

duc748 · 23/04/2024 18:52

We didn't see him get stabbed, did we?

diddl · 23/04/2024 18:59

When he was detained & searched he said that he had been stabbed in a club(?)

I don't think we saw it happen, no.

But as someone who has been to China many many times, the most unrealistic bit is a deserted road in Beijing!!!

Absolutely! I lived in China for 12 years and the empty roads are hilarious. The fact that he was driving himself is also unrealistic.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2024 09:58

E2 tonight

Do people have drivers in China then?

I'm going to have to watch tonight and just take it for what it is, Sunday night drama. Even with more holes than Swiss cheese it's better than some of the other stuff on these days.

martinisforeveryone · 28/04/2024 12:10

@Inkanta think you posted a spoiler?

As a visitor you would take a taxi as road signs are not always in pinyin so you would need to be able to read Chinese characters to drive. Beijing has a population of over 20 million and navigating the city as a foreigner would be very challenging.
its standard for companies to provide expats with drivers (regardless of your seniority in the company). Companies also want to avoid situations where there is car accident and it’s the ‘foreigner’s fault’ .
We had a driver when we lived there.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2024 13:40

Have uou seen e2 @Inkanta ?

Yes. My family lived in China for nearly 2 decades and my Dad drove, but only after living there for many many years.

most westerners either get a taxi or have a driver provided by their company.

driving in China is NOT for the faint hearted.

MabelMoo23 · 28/04/2024 14:23

So they're not diverting to the nearest airport and just flying to Bejing with a dead body.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2024 21:18

The dog is gonna die

OP posts:
Piggywaspushed · 28/04/2024 21:37

Dogs always die. It's a rule.

It's really annoying me that they all keep saying proto call.

xSideshowAuntSallyx · 28/04/2024 22:01

Just love how massive this plane is and how people can just walk into the crew quarters. How they have just left the guy who died last week at the front when they could have put him in the crew quarters.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2024 22:04

Wow

So

3 deaths. 2 men out of the Medical group

And the dog

Wonde what happened to the 5th member of group. The one slammed into the van

If he is dead as well

The screws turning were creepy

Wonder why is inside and they they kill Stephen

So we know the pilot is dodgy (also knew that from the spoiler earlier)

But wondering if he is being blackmailed as kept looking at his family pic

As in I don't think he is dodgy but has no choice

Woman whose dog does kept calling its name. Over and over

I think hana is now believing him esp as other medical wife said he left alone

Well, I for one am really enjoying this. Hooked!!!

Although totally bemused that they haven’t diverted and landed the plane. Even with government instructions, that’s just a bit unrealistic.
