Blondeshavemorefun · 16/04/2024 18:49

On for 6w on Sunday at 9pm

This thread is tv paced !!!!

This brand-new six-part thriller, starring Jing Lusi and Richard Armitage, promises nerve-wracking plot twists, heart-stopping performances, and a compelling narrative that spans continents. Set to premiere on ITV1 and ITVX on the 21st of April, here's why Red Eye should be at the top of your must-watch list...

Red Eye kicks off with an adrenaline-fuelled opening that sets the tone for the rest of the series. Dr. Matthew Nolan (Richard Armitage), after a near-death experience in Beijing, finds himself entangled in a web of accusations upon his return to London.

Arrested for a murder he insists he didn't commit, Nolan's life spirals into chaos.

The plot thickens when DC Hana Li (Jing Lusi), tasked with escorting Nolan back to China, discovers a murder on their flight, unraveling a series of events that suggest a deeper, more sinister plot at play.

One of Red Eye's most compelling features is its unpredictability. With a storyline that introduces twist after twist, viewers are kept on the edge of their seats, guessing what could possibly happen next.

Each episode peels back layers of intrigue, revealing geopolitical tensions and sinister forces that suggest no one can be trusted.

The series boasts an array of famous faces, delivering strong performances that bring depth and complexity to their roles.

Jing Lusi's portrayal of DC Hana Li is both compelling and nuanced, presenting a character whose determination and grit are matched only by the mysteries she faces.

Richard Armitage's Dr. Matthew Nolan is equally captivating, offering a glimpse into the psyche of a man fighting to clear his name while navigating a labyrinth of lies and deception.

Red Eye is both pacy and frenetic, mirroring the urgency and danger that the characters face, and this rapid tempo ensures that there's never a dull moment, with each episode drawing the viewer deeper into the unfolding conspiracy.

Helping to further bolster the series are its high production values and striking visuals – the international setting of the series, spanning from the bustling streets of Beijing to the imposing presence of London's Heathrow Airport, provides a rich backdrop for the narrative.

I reckon the wife will be victim number 4. Creepy man in the vent will kill her.

Wonder where the spare pilots are as it's a long haul flight there would be at least one.

Piggywaspushed · 28/04/2024 22:17

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2024 22:04

Wow

So

3 deaths. 2 men out of the Medical group

And the dog

Wonde what happened to the 5th member of group. The one slammed into the van

If he is dead as well

The screws turning were creepy

Wonder why is inside and they they kill Stephen

So we know the pilot is dodgy (also knew that from the spoiler earlier)

But wondering if he is being blackmailed as kept looking at his family pic

As in I don't think he is dodgy but has no choice

Woman whose dog does kept calling its name. Over and over

I think hana is now believing him esp as other medical wife said he left alone

What two men from the medical group?

Please make sure @Inkanta and anyone else that you post on the right thread

If you have binged then don't reply if you aren't sure what Episode you are replying about

Ditto @martinisforeveryone Will try and forget ffs 😡😡😡

No need to be so rude. The poster made a genuine mistake, it happens.

When mistake like this happen people always get this type of reaction from certain posters, yourself included and it makes this Telly Addicts thread very unfriendly to post on

Dartmoorcheffy · 28/04/2024 22:27

Really enjoying this. DP reckons it could be the female flight attendant.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2024 22:47

@Pepsiisbetterthancoke then people need to check which thread they post on

Not fair to others who don't want to know spoilers

Yes I get it's a mistake but equally check esp if binge and watch all episodes - if spoiler or tv pace

If I had read that another death had happened I wouldn't have been happy and neither would others due to private messages I got

Only innocent one seems to be co pilot and he's been firmly put in his place by the captain

I can’t work out if the pilot is in on this or not

purpleme12 · 28/04/2024 23:08

Pilot's dodgy because he's trying to stop co-pilot from saying the truth

Lots of things but I know her best from Teachers where she was Andrew Lincoln's long suffering girlfriend.

I thought maybe thta was a reflection of Communist China where no one would be allowed to say that there was a mechanical problem so extreme on a plane. But we will see how it unfolds.

I must say I am finding everyone's reaction to all the dead bodies piling up hilariously understated! Most of the passengers are asleep!

Twonewcats · 29/04/2024 09:21

Lesley Sharps acting is really poor in this 😳

Re the flight into UK, RA had been getting questioned for ages when the other medical people arrived - it was pretty obvious they weren't on the same flight!

martinisforeveryone · 29/04/2024 09:27

At least there are clear advantages to being in tourist class this time 😁 Apart from suffering the same ‘mechanical turbulence’ 🫣

The problem I’m having and it’s made worse by discussing it, is I dwell too much on plot holes and ridiculous stretches and try to fix or explain them away to make it all make more sense. Like someone taking a meal served to someone else on the basis ‘I haven’t touched it’ post Covid especially. The likelihood of one vegan meal being available for a ‘deportee’ who wasn’t originally booked on that flight, but no spare vegan meals.

I’ve never been aware of downstairs crew quarters before, but it struck me as so odd, the Captain asking if anyone had seen Stephen fall and not how passengers had gained access to what should be a secure area. He doesn’t inspire much confidence does he. Nor does the airport and airline security.

I did cotton on to there being an air marshal though and have been down a rabbit hole researching them 🙄 They travel in pairs in real life.

I’m also perplexed as to how long Stephen was missing with his hands bound enough for the marks to show and to have been killed, but not for anyone to wonder where he was all that time?

Maybe I should think a bit less. I feel like my head’s all over the place with this one and it’s not helping. I’m also unsure if waiting another three weeks is going to be full of anticipation like Happy Valley, or whether I’d rather binge to just get to the end of it and be done.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 29/04/2024 09:52

yes i didnt understand the hands bound

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/04/2024 11:21

I’m also perplexed as to how long Stephen was missing with his hands bound enough for the marks to show and to have been killed, but not for anyone to wonder where he was all that time?

Same. Wasn't missing that long and surely 5/10m of wrists being bound wouldn't have made this imprint ?

martinisforeveryone · 29/04/2024 11:33

Also, given how much stuff is confiscated from hand luggage, as potential to be weaponised, and flight crew also go through these checks, how did the killer get suitable material on board and accessible to them? Surely a belt or tie wouldn’t have done the job?

I said I overthink didn’t I?

JayAlfredPrufrock · 29/04/2024 11:53

The air hostess swapped cases in a loo before the flight.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 29/04/2024 11:55

An air hostess on a flight to South Africa let me have a peak down the stairs to their quarters.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 29/04/2024 11:55

Was Richard Armitage down there? That would please me.

xSideshowAuntSallyx · 29/04/2024 12:14

The whole thing is ludicrous and so unrealistic. There certainly wouldn't be the amount of space they have in the crew quarters. They'd have more than 2 pilots, 3 dead bodies is an emergency so he'd be landing at the next airport not flying to China.

No one would be allowed to fiddle with the electronics. All airport workers who go airside go through the same checks as passengers, even just to get to a hangar you have the same liquid restrictions and go through security.

Special meals have to be pre-ordered in advance, so why was there a vegan meal for him if he didn't know he was going back.

Not sure why I'm watching other than I want to know who the creepy man in the vent is and I'm kinda hooked.😂

The air hostess swapped cases in a loo before the flight.

She did indeed

I thought she knew it was a swap as ignored them and looked in mirror Bt sink

So air hostess and pilot both in it /dodgy not sure why
