On for 6w on Sunday at 9pm

This thread is tv paced !!!!

This brand-new six-part thriller, starring Jing Lusi and Richard Armitage, promises nerve-wracking plot twists, heart-stopping performances, and a compelling narrative that spans continents. Set to premiere on ITV1 and ITVX on the 21st of April, here's why Red Eye should be at the top of your must-watch list...

Red Eye kicks off with an adrenaline-fuelled opening that sets the tone for the rest of the series. Dr. Matthew Nolan (Richard Armitage), after a near-death experience in Beijing, finds himself entangled in a web of accusations upon his return to London.

Arrested for a murder he insists he didn't commit, Nolan's life spirals into chaos.

The plot thickens when DC Hana Li (Jing Lusi), tasked with escorting Nolan back to China, discovers a murder on their flight, unraveling a series of events that suggest a deeper, more sinister plot at play.

One of Red Eye's most compelling features is its unpredictability. With a storyline that introduces twist after twist, viewers are kept on the edge of their seats, guessing what could possibly happen next.

Each episode peels back layers of intrigue, revealing geopolitical tensions and sinister forces that suggest no one can be trusted.

The series boasts an array of famous faces, delivering strong performances that bring depth and complexity to their roles.

Jing Lusi's portrayal of DC Hana Li is both compelling and nuanced, presenting a character whose determination and grit are matched only by the mysteries she faces.

Richard Armitage's Dr. Matthew Nolan is equally captivating, offering a glimpse into the psyche of a man fighting to clear his name while navigating a labyrinth of lies and deception.

Red Eye is both pacy and frenetic, mirroring the urgency and danger that the characters face, and this rapid tempo ensures that there's never a dull moment, with each episode drawing the viewer deeper into the unfolding conspiracy.

Helping to further bolster the series are its high production values and striking visuals – the international setting of the series, spanning from the bustling streets of Beijing to the imposing presence of London's Heathrow Airport, provides a rich backdrop for the narrative.

What was in the switched cabin bag? Or do we not know yet?

NashvilleQueen · 22/04/2024 08:14

The sister's acting is a bit gcse drama but she's obviously meant to be irritating (although ultimately will win through).

the80sweregreat · 22/04/2024 08:19

I thought the switched bag was for the man in the hold , but I don't know.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/04/2024 08:22

So many missed the bag swap

Were you mn-img 😂

I've learnt I actually need to watch dramas or miss stuff

The air hostess went into the toilet. Left trolley and went to the sink

Another person came in with identical trolley and switched

Then took other one

the80sweregreat · 22/04/2024 08:25

No, I saw the bag swap in the toilets , but we then saw the cabin crew lady put it into a different place on the plane and I thought it was for the man who is in the hold.

xSideshowAuntSallyx · 22/04/2024 10:09

When she mentioned about his white privilege it just didn't fit with the fact her father is married to a white British woman and obviously has been for a long time. I assume her mother died when she was a child

the80sweregreat · 22/04/2024 10:29

They have obviously been told to take the hard line with him because they don't believe his innocent based on flimsy evidence and reasoning.

duc748 · 22/04/2024 12:16

I was trying to remember where I knew Richard Armitage from (not a LOTR fan), and of course, he was Lucas in Spooks! That was a while ago now.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/04/2024 12:17

Yes the other 4 were all on the plane a day earlier

So not suss

Tho 3/4 agreed to go back

4th is now in a van kidnapped

So who killed the girl

To then put her in his smashed car

Why was he drugged in the first place ? He obviously felt ok at first to be able to drive.
Might be to do with his talk about medicine, but I also wonder if it's to do with the nuclear plant that was mentioned on the tv when the MI5 lady was saying goodbye to her dad in the morning? That seemed significant and mentioned China too.

duc748 · 22/04/2024 13:12

I think I need to re-watch the pre-credits sequence...

Definitely significant

This is promising , was glued apart from the holes that PPs have mentioned . And why were Nolan's handcuffs taken off and he was allowed to see to the man who was ill , when his colleagues were there and presumably doctors too .

purpleme12 · 22/04/2024 14:45

It explained in the programme that the other doctors were research doctors and he was the only doctor licensed to practice medicine

Ah sorry @purpleme12 didn't see you had replied - page didn't refresh

Even though they were only research, wouldn’t they have known cpr anyway? Don’t all doctors go through medical school before they do their speciality eg medicine/research etc

Clearly these didn't do that particular module !

butterpuffed · 22/04/2024 15:29

Oh , missed the bit about them being research docs .

Newgirls · 22/04/2024 15:48

Ok this sounds completely nuts and also appealing 😂 will it put me off flying?

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/04/2024 16:28

Stay off the vegan meals and will be ok 😂😂😂

The plan looks lovely for an 11hr flight

Massive seats

BakedBeansforabrain · 22/04/2024 16:37

If doesn’t stop you becoming a vegan, nothing will

BettySundaes · 22/04/2024 17:07

I guess following protocol to make an emergency landing to offliad the dead passenger would spoil the plot line too!

martinisforeveryone · 22/04/2024 17:56

@the80sweregreat Madeline Delaney of MI5, as portrayed by Lesley Sharp, is married to the man who needs round the clock nursing care, he's not her dad. I assumed that too at first.

@BettySundaes there's something strange about the Captain in my opinion, he's probably in on it too. Someone's in on it and he's behaving very sus.

The bag swap at the airport was so ill conceived. It's obviously deliberate, but once the steward had gone into the cubicle, how could she be sure the next person in was the right one? unless they'd seen each other outside of the cloakroom and the only reason for that bit of plot device was so we didn't see who the swapper was I suppose.

I assumed the other Doctors had their qualifications and title from other specialties, even though they all worked for a firm with Medi in its title.

the80sweregreat · 22/04/2024 18:04

Ahh, I assumed it was her dad having the care
