New Channel 5 drama Love Rat, starring Sally Lindsay and Neil Morrissey, blends escapism and thriller as a holiday romance turns into a hunt for justice.

Emma, reeling from her divorce and estrangement from her daughter, seeks a new start in Cyprus, where she meets Niko, the charismatic hotel owner.

Their whirlwind romance, filled with luxury and passion, leads Emma to consider a future with Niko, far from her UK life.

She invests in this dream by lending Niko money for a villa, only to have him disappear with everything she gave.

Faced with betrayal, Emma embarks on a determined search to find Niko and reclaim her stolen funds, delving into Cyprus’s shadowy corners of deceit.

This journey uncovers startling truths about Niko and forces Emma to confront the realities of trust and betrayal.

Love Rat shifts from a love story to a tale of resilience and justice, highlighting Emma’s struggle to overcome adversity and rebuild her life in the aftermath of deception.

Did Pete just say he has posh 'picky bits'? Shock

DrunkenElephant · 14/03/2024 21:31

I knew it!!!!

Roryhon · 14/03/2024 21:34

Why didn’t she tell the policewoman about her husband?

andHelenknowsimmiserablenow · 14/03/2024 21:41

Bit rude just ending the call without talking...

RosaMoline · 14/03/2024 21:42

Well played to the PP who predicted this in the first episode.
Sorry I doubted you!!

Sorry I doubted you!!

I’ll take that, thanks 😂
Although it seemed so obvious from the very beginning so I don’t feel it’s much of a victory!
Typicsl predictable channel 5 dross but I’ve at least finished this one!

TheChosenTwo · 14/03/2024 21:46

mind you, you never know what’s going to happen in the last 15 minutes…

Blahblah34 · 14/03/2024 21:46

Police woman is Helen from The Archers

DrunkenElephant · 14/03/2024 21:47

convenient Jerry can of petrol there

DrunkenElephant · 14/03/2024 21:47

Good cop could have figured it out and called British police who are on the way to save the day right now?

Westfacing · 14/03/2024 21:48

I keep thinking Pete is really Terry Waite.

DrunkenElephant · 14/03/2024 21:51

Oh for gods sake 🙄

GentlemanJack · 14/03/2024 21:52

Convenient nail gun.

Roryhon · 14/03/2024 21:56

Yes and she miraculously knew how to work it!

Oh well, it was consistent!

RosaMoline · 14/03/2024 21:58

Hahaha….what a load of old shit!
mind you the ads for channel 5 shows reminded me exactly why I avoid it.
’The Scandal That Hit Britain’ - about the Wonka Experience
And
a Documentary on Dale Winton

RosaMoline · 14/03/2024 22:00

Also, I presume she got/was compensated her money from his estate?
And would you really want to go back to Cyprus? I mean, PTSD surely?

Puppupandaway · 14/03/2024 22:01

Well done to all who guessed the ex husband was behind it!!

Some of the dialogue was awful : "you're an idiot but you're my idiot", jeez!!!

Surely you wouldn't move out to Cyprus after all that had happened. How ridiculous. The daughter wasn't worth all the tears and protection. Their strained relationship just didn't ring true.

I'm glad I watched it but it wasn't ever tense and stretched believability.

RosaMoline · 14/03/2024 22:03

On another note, when he said ‘picky bits’ I immediately got The Ick 😂

CatLevelCare · 14/03/2024 22:03

What a load of rubbish.

But at least nobody has to eat a hat for supper 😀.

OiGetOff · 14/03/2024 22:06

Well that was very silly.

Rather enjoyed it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/03/2024 22:25

Omg. Well done to who called pete behind it !!

He was intent on revenge to get his money back that she stole from him on the divorce

As George said - you have no idea what this is really about

So Emma killed pete will a nail Gun/stake in the heart and her daughter forgave her quite happily for killing her dad

She had the same grey /beige nail polish on 6mths and a year later 😂

Niko did seem to try and make amends

Tho what I didn't get is why couldn't the police get the info off the laptop

Why did they need the memory stick as a copy

RosaMoline · 14/03/2024 22:31

I did wonder (anyone else?) that Pete would reveal as a final plot twist that the irritating daughter was somehow involved, but perhaps that was too far fetched!

Roryhon · 14/03/2024 22:51

Haha, well spotted on the nail varnish!

Who knew, if you want to reconcile with your difficult daughter you just need to shoot their father with a nail gun and they’ll be putty in your hands! I must tell my friend. She’s struggling with her daughter at the moment.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/03/2024 23:24

Indeed @Roryhon

So now she has killed two men (as she took the blame for George) but both was not done for the crime
