and someone who was in the first ever episode is back

I loved Darlene when she was in the earlier series as Dwaynes girlfriend, strong and sassy, but she has been so flat as a police officer. Got a hint of sass back last night so I am happy.

Not too keen on Florence returning. I loved her but I felt her story had ended and romance with Neville feels a bit odd. Neville needs a Martha type character.

Not liking Dwayne’s return if I’m honest though I guessed it would be him by Selwyn’s comments.

I love Dwayne but the script hasn’t been great for me. Like Naomi and Darlene but not wild about Florence coming back. She’s always been my least favourite character. I find her acting pretty weak.

The plot last night was ludicrous. How was the barrister supposed to have got away with taking another woman's child and passing her off as her own child without the child, now a 32 year-old married woman with a passport, ever having noticed that her birth certificate showed different people as her parents? Not to mention no school ever having asked to see it.

However, plot holes notwithstanding, I do love DiP. Also pleased to see that Beyond Paradise is back soon. Equally undemanding but enjoyable.

Id rather new characters than the return of Dwayne or Florence tbh. I already missed Marlon and really liked his story arc.

WRT Beyond Paradise, I hate how they have made PC Kelby so daft. He is almost an idiot.

Just watched, one possible way to get round the baby identity issue could be if the real mum was so ill that she never registered the birth, then if the couple took the baby they could register her as theirs.
I can't see how else it could work.
The cctv on the lift should have shown which floor the lift was on (though I didn't actually look whether that info was in the shot), and the plan would have totally failed if anyone in the lobby also called the lift.

If Ralf does leave I wonder who will replace him.

It will also annoy me if they go down the romantic route with him and florence. She wouldn't go near Neville.

I miss Marlon already too. He had really come into his own.
Agree that Darlene has gone from a strong character to fading into the background.

Yes, I worked out that the daughter was adopted and the daughter of the other woman's before San Marie police and thought from the outset there was something very staged about the husband asking for a photo then leaving her in the lift, but the whole going to another floor and coming back up didn't make sense when they were timing themselves to travel down in the lift

I used to like Dwayne, but it didn't work, him returning last week.

I thought the actor who plays Dwayne wouldn’t come back to BBC and DiP. Wasn’t there some article somewhere about why?

I agree @NewName24 i used to love Dwayne but just didn’t work and I can’t put my finger on why - maybe because of Darlene.

I read on here that the BBC/Dwayne issue was over his appearance on Strictly, not DiP. Can anyone confirm? I wasn't watching Strictly back then.

If it was Strictly, how come? Thats produced by the BBC as well or if not produced, broadcast by them

A friend of ours played golf with DJ-J and said he quit because the 6 months filming out of every year was getting a bit much.

I think many of the DiP stars have found this, especially those with young children. Tough gig.

Is that how long it takes? That is a long time, 6 months but it also looks a beautiful place to film

When Dwayne arrived, Neville greeted him as if he already knew him, and dd and I were trying to work out when their paths had crossed. I looked up the series and Dwayne left 2 series before Neville arrived, so I'm confused as to how they knew each other 🤔

I know my memory isn't great so thought I'd got mixed up but that was my first thought when they met / when he came in.

According to IMDb they were both in the 2021 Christmas special - he came back to ‘cover’ for Florence.

The timing did work cause the phone call they were using to establish the time wasn’t the real phone call.
