sure was on a Friday night last series so wonder why now prime time on Sunday for bbc but who cares

Yes, that was the one with Matthew Baynton as a London taxi driver who goes out to Saint Marie for Christmas. A shipping magnate is then murdered. Christmas cards are involved. Dwayne and Marlon go to Guadeloupe on Christmas Eve for reasons that escape me now, but they end up fast friends. Then Dwayne headed back to London with his Dad so his Dad could have medical treatment.

And they shared a flight home to England at the end of the episode so definitely plenty of time to get to know each other

I'm pleased to see him back, just hoping Neville doesn't leave!

Just caught up. Loved the relationship between Dwayne and Darkene.

I guessed straight away that the phone call was made at a different time.

if Neville does leave ‘to go travelling’ that would be a great series. I wouldn’t want this to be the end of DI Neville. Maybe he can go places and come across murders or crimes and help to solve them, crossed with a travelogue programme.

Was Darlenes nail varnish the same shade as the broken nail in last week’s episode?

Also, is the dress of one of the four suspects the same material as another of the four’s skirt?

Is this the last episode of Series 13 ?

Ending was odd, like it was the series end.
Hope florence isn't going to be the new DI. I just don't think that would work.

I thought they were going to have a Florence v ex dilemma. Ie. Neville, who is unlucky in love, suddenly has two suitors.

Surely they would have waved him off at the airport?

Does he get on the plane or not…?

Also, as a British colony (?), surely they must have a British DI to oversee things (I know it’s only fictional) hence all the British Dis.

Don’t mind Florence apart from all her sighing.

It must be a British Overseas Territory, like Montserrat, Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and the Turks and Caicos Islands. (Yes, I did just look at Wikipedia.) It was previously French, as explained very briefly in Episode 1, Series 1, hence the French names and many French-speaking residents. (In fact, this is because it's a co-production between the BBC and a French TV company, and because it's filmed on Guadeloupe, which is an overseas French department. Confused? You will be ....)

The lilo plot wouldn't work. Anything that deflates slowly enough to give time to get back to the room for a fake argument then sit down for breakfast before submerging the body would not become waterlogged and sink to the bottom within minutes, there would be random floaty bits of it under and round her.
Also, sleeping tablets aren't powerful enough to take effect within minutes and make someone sleep through drowning unless they're at a close to lethal dose (which would have been mentioned in the autopsy). She would have tasted them in the water bottle too.

Does anyone else sometimes wonder about how big the prison on Guadeloupe must be to accommodate the vast number of murderers sent over from Saint Marie?

I wondered if Florence might be murdered as soon as she sets foot on Saint Marie. The witness protection might have been ended a bit too soon.

Oh no!

Pure speculation on my part. She's been stabbed once and lost her fiance in the same incident, so maybe they'll feel she's suffered enough.

And so has Neville at least on the romance front so they need a happy ending
