Gladiators returns!

On Saturday! Anyone else going to watch?

Sorry if there's already a thread please feel free to merge

I grew up watching it in the 90s on a Saturday night. I didn't see the sky(?) remake as I don't think we had sky at the time, however this time it looks like they are keeping some of the original events

My favourites used to be Lightning and Wolf. I also used to want to be on it and do the eliminator. No chance of my lardy self making it round it now!

Apollo is also very nice to look at

I didn't realise Comet got injured. I wonder when that happened, the BBC article is from 20th January! It's a shame that they would cut her game rather than show the injury. They don't hesitate to show when contestants get hurt.

I remember how Jet broke her back on Pyramid. Had to retire afterwards.

It was one of the best games though.

The drama and the characters are all pretend, yes. Viper is a lovely chap I'm sure, and Legend isn't a knob head in real life and Diamond isn't a moody sore loser etc

But the competition side will not be pretend.

She shattered her ankle/leg in 3 places, I'm guessing it was pretty bad and there's no need for us to see it.

Fury, Sabre and Nitro are my favourites by far. I enjoy whenever Legend appears too. I wish Athena got more screen time.

It was so close yesterday (again) between the women. I like the fact that despite being a competition it is all very good natured and the gladiators and contestants are very sporting (with the exception of viper and Legend - who are obviously playing characters)

I'm not sure the gladiators changing room/backstage area really adds anything though

I have a new crush, why have I not noticed Apollo before?! But reading his Instagram I kind of feel sorry for him, he has a lot of middle aged women making comments.

Don't think I have a favourite, they're all ridiculous and cheesy.

But Nitro is a happy chappy and I like his bouncing all over the place

I've just looked at his Instagram, and I'm not seeing that.

Besides, I think he'd survive even if he did have comments from Middle Aged Women.
