I grew up watching it in the 90s on a Saturday night. I didn't see the sky(?) remake as I don't think we had sky at the time, however this time it looks like they are keeping some of the original events

My favourites used to be Lightning and Wolf. I also used to want to be on it and do the eliminator. No chance of my lardy self making it round it now!

Apollo is also very nice to look at

Only Eunice Hurthart was worthy when they brought her back as a gladiator!

When we first watched it, Apollo came out and he didnt have the same body builder/bulging pec type physique as eg giant or nitro. He wasn't standing next to anyone else for comparison, and me and DS said "oh he doesn't look too huge..."

...and then they said he was 6'6 (iirc) and 18 stone and we fell about laughing at our mistake. And then we saw him next to B&B and we laughed some more! 🤣🤣
Now every time he comes on one of us comments that he doesn't look too hard to beat!

Had my bezzie over having a cuppa and we saw him on morning TVbefore the new series was televised. We were all excited to see one of the new gladiators and when we first saw him we were disappointed to put it mildly even though he came across well. He just didn't appear to be ''gladiator like" and having seen the likes of Giant on telly we were expecting more in the big muscles department! With that said yes agreed, it's a different landscape when he stands up next to a mere mortal and he did do a lil flex and clearly had something. With that said as an ex Rugby/American football player he did well in the physical events as we expected. He defo is hard to beat! lol :)..I think powerball is his better/ideal event. :)

I'm gonna miss this show! Been a weekly joy.

I know, me too. Don't fancy waiting the best part of a year to see it back on again! Hopefully the rumours are true and we'll be treated to celeb episodes etc around Christmas time.:)

Reckon Iwan Thomas, Fatima Whitbread and Tony Bellew might sign up!

That would be interesting indeed. Krikey FW is pushing it years wise.That said she's clearly in great shape! Tony would be a real character, don't think he'd be listening/taking too much jazz off the likes of Legend and Viper! lol

She did the SAS show a few years ago and was pretty good

I've no recollection of that Fiz.. I'll have to google about that one! I remember some rugby players and Neil Adams the judo champion doing it iirc. That said Finlay the army officer failed to excel in any of his events imo. :)

Fatima would be a great female host! I'd love to see her either join B&B or replace one of them!

Oh crikey, 100% a vote for Fatima here too, she'd be EXCELLENT.
I'd rather have a sports broadcaster type than B&B. They're just too cheesy and cringe I think. I don't dislike them as a duo. Just not for Glads

I've started following Legend's Matt does fitness channel and I'm really starting to fancy him 😳

His challenges are fun and there's something about him in his tight gym wear that's very sexy! Plus he's so sweet with his little boy

Going to miss watching Gladiators on a Saturday night, surely it's popular enough to go at least twice a year!

@FourLeggedBuckers Me too! Especially in the form of a show comprising of massive hunks doing battle in shiny lycra cozzies! lol :)

@MadCatLady27 Seeing those massive hunks in shiny lycra cozzies has been a weekly highlight of mine for several weeks now as clearly has been for many others here! Funny, I've been thinking the same. I'm sure the old series and the Sky series had wto series a year..Or did those series just seem to last for many more weeks than this current one. Either way I'd love more than what we're getting and given the huge popularity of the show, hopefully our dreams could become reality! We'be been deprived of our big hunky gladiators for far too many years as it is. I'd only just got used to having them back! lol :)
