I grew up watching it in the 90s on a Saturday night. I didn't see the sky(?) remake as I don't think we had sky at the time, however this time it looks like they are keeping some of the original events

My favourites used to be Lightning and Wolf. I also used to want to be on it and do the eliminator. No chance of my lardy self making it round it now!

Apollo is also very nice to look at

I think I'm just amalgamating all the various series in my head to be honest!

The rolling log and the handbike for men were there since series 1

Also the wall was a lot harder in the 1990s

Did they not bring that back a few years ago with Richard Ayoade? Can’t remember if it was with regular people but I do remember celebrities doing it as the cast of Derry Girls were on it

Agree with pp that there is definitely good sportsmanship this time around which is good for young kids to see

Also I have no memory of what I did yesterday but I know every word of the theme tune 😂

They did @Theatrefan12 but it was still very 90s cheap / shaky set & not good enough calibre for the 21st century!

Only seen last week's so far but I loved it!
Used to love it when I was little.
And my child is proper getting into it

We watched the first one. My DD is into fitness and I had been telling her about this show. She loved it and actually suggested watching the second one. It's so good that they have kept it more or less the same as the original. Love the sportsmanship between everyone and the challenges really got us invested! Especially the travelator drama in the second one.

Love gladiators, the newer ones are caked in tattoos, just shows the trend 30 years later with that!

I like the presenters, the young lad does a good job. I found Ulrika very wooden.

Also I agree with someone above, better if women go first in the events.

When they say contestant you’ll go on my first whistle! Does anyone else hear Hugo from The Vicar of Dibley at Christmas dinner with “contestant David, you’ll go on my first whistle.” 😂

I cannot believe the Eliminator for the women tonight!!!

Sad she had to be a bad loser. Betti was very gracious after getting an attitude like that from her.

She must have been gutted though as she was so much better in all the games and had such a big headstart! She was rubbish on the rope and then the travelator just was too much!

My 7 year old is absolutely loving it and now wanting to be on gladiators. It's great family Saturday night viewing.

I absolutely love it! I watch it every week with DD, and DS even joined us this week. Proper old fashioned family entertainment for a Saturday night.

Just catching up now. The rope was the undoing of so many in the 90s!

I read something years ago that said actually the elimantor favours the lighter contender.

I think the wall is one of the few games where contenders often beat the gladiators because being 18 stone isnt really an advantage!

But year I think lighter quicker contenders do well at eliminator, we felt sure dev would win yday, although I was also convinced Tula would win aswell!

Didnt see an attitude from Tula, though she had a right to one after Betti was trying to shake her off the cargo net.

It seems so much shorter than it used to be, but perhaps because it was itv before and there were adverts (where we’d all have a fag!). I thought there were a bigger variety of games too. My only gripe is all the points they amassed in the games don’t seem to matter much in the final.

I’m doing gladiators for a village scarecrow competition (theme is tv programmes)!
