Silent Witness - news series for 2024 starts tonight - what will our multi tasking pathologists get up to this time.

I know fron the last series that many think this is a series that should have quietly been taken of air years ago.

But the telly addicts thread last time was so funny that it made it worth watching just to be able to join in the comments.

As our two lead characters have zero chemistry and barely speak, and they rarely do any actual pathology, one can only speculate what even more far fetched adventure they will get up to this series.

Not forgetting each more implausible fashion get up Nikki will be wearing to work each episode.

Oooo love a bit of Silent Witness. Thanks @IwantToRetire Will we see any physical contact between the Fox and Jack this series? If we do think it will be a bit damp squib. (Although I wouldn't say no to Jack!)

I have watched from Day 1. DH eye rolls at the start of every series as it's so unrealistic now, but I still love it

I really hope this is better than the last one. I've always loved silent witness but I stopped watching after episode 4 last year because it had clearly jumped the shark.

Jack gives me the creeps. His nose is too pointy for me.

John Hannah has changed... in my mind he's still one of the friends in four weddings and a funeral. I suppose that was 30 years ago

Well I thought it was better than the last one , though admittedly a low bar.
And probably joined everyone else who shouted at the tv when jack chased the suspect !

I can't not watch it - dp laughs at me but I've watched it for 27 years, I'm not going to stop now... it known as Violent Shitness here and it didn't disappoint 😄

Is it worth a shot because last year I just decided to stop. I just stopped caring, awful storylines.

Also Jack and Nicky don't fit at all.

I watched it years ago. Put it in tonight and was shocked it was series 27! At one a year that's nearly half my life! It was ok.

Jack and Nicky have absolutely zero sexual chemistry. That whole storyline is just not working for me.

@IwantToRetire , it wasn't so much the fashion choices this week but the intricate up-do of her hair that happened between leaving the lab (loose waved bob) and arriving at the scene of crime (lovely crown plaited hair do)

I spent the entire time wondering how I could plait my hair like Nicky's and how old a John Hannah is now.

But have to say I didn't think it was quite as bad as last series. Written by long time SW writers.

But seriously, Jack is just terrible. Cant act and now that he isnt' always stripping off to fight someone or do something "manly" he is a complete waste of space.

I spent most of the episode trying to remember who the actor was play Peck(?) and had to rewind recording to eventually see it was John Hannah.

Taken that the whole work situation is implausible, this wasn't as far fetched as before.
