Ashley's vile blue silky dress in the final number they did was not good - am appalled by the 'stylist'

ipanemagirl · 11/05/2008 20:21

Good Evening Mme Mountford!!!!!

ipanemagirl · 11/05/2008 20:22

oh lordy, ds just made us watch all the auditions from the finalists.....

That was very unpleasant! But Tara and Ashley and Amy are worth watching for the accent-Horror!!!

MargaretMountford · 11/05/2008 20:22

thank you ipanema, as always

turquoise · 11/05/2008 20:26

Samantha is really growing on me - and she was the only one who didn't do all the ridiculous carrying on when she didn't get through.

turquoise · 11/05/2008 20:27

I mean did get through!

RoxyNotFoxy · 11/05/2008 20:33

I thought Ashley was better tonight in the sing-offs than usual, in spite of being a bit off tune now and then. She put some heart into it. She had to go, but I think she did okay overall. Bye bye Aahley.

I'm glad Jessie survived. I was really afraid for her after yesterday's performance.

NotABanana · 11/05/2008 20:43

Ashley was the better of the two in the sink of imo.

I find Niamh very cocky.

clam · 11/05/2008 20:50

ALW clearly doesn't want Ashley - he's been very harsh about her all the way through, so I was puzzled when he kept her in the other week. Unless he was keeping her in so he had her up his sleeve (so to speak) to get rid of if she was up against someone he really wanted (like Samantha) but who the audience wasn't so keen on.

unicorn · 11/05/2008 20:56

Ashley actually should have been saved on the basis of that sing off. I am no Ashley fan, but Niamh didn't have a clue what she was singing about.
Showed that she is far too immature for the role I reckon.

Finalists.. Jodie, Jessie, Sam (Rachel not too far behind)

Twinklemegan · 11/05/2008 21:29

I'd like to see Niamh or Jessie win - simply because it would give a different perspective to the role instead of endlessly recycling one interpretation. And yes, I think they should keep the Irish accent - it would be more interesting.

Tippychick · 12/05/2008 11:34

OK, first things first. I watch the Apprentice but still don't get the Margaret whosherface thing? Explain please someone kind?

Secondly - yay the witch is gone! No more pervy pouting from Ashley. Funniest bit of the programme, Rachel and Niamh bitching about why t'other one shouldn't be Nancy.

EffiePerine · 12/05/2008 11:39

well, thanks goodness Ashley has gone. Every time they murder an Aretha Franklin song they go down and QUITE RIGHT TOO

Sam was very good on Saturday, Jessie had a difficult song, Rachel, Jodie and Niamh were just DULL.

I'm rooting for Jessie and Sam. Wasn't Jodie pissed off at a) showing their thoughts on who wasn;t Nancy and b) ALW's remarks to Ashley? If looks could kill...

noddyholder · 12/05/2008 11:41

I missed the bit where they named their least likely nancy Can someone tell me who said what? Thanks xxxx

tortoiseSHELL · 12/05/2008 11:45

Haven't watched it yet, will watch this afternoon. But I like Sam the best. I think she is amazingly confident, and think she would come across well on stage.

Rachel is boring boring boring!!!

beansprout · 12/05/2008 11:46

Jessie, Ashley and Rachel all got a mention, I think in that order so that would be by JB, DVO and Dame Perv.

Tippychick · 12/05/2008 11:46

Well from what I can remember Rachel said that Niamh was too "poppy" and Niamh said that Rachel was too slick. Jessie and Jodie also picked Niamh I think? You'll have to get the goss from someone with a better memory than me

Twinkie1 · 12/05/2008 11:47

Am I the only person who finds Niamh's voice really annoying and difficult to listen to? She sounds like abloody alley cat someonf the time!

Joash · 12/05/2008 11:51

I agree, can't stand Ashley, but she was actually better in the sing off. Still, we have getting rid of Niamh to look forward to now; grating voice, odd looking, sulky, pouty pot doll sort of face and that bloody fringe - aaarrgghhh!!!

No I agree I think Niamhs voice is pretty average. Its very tinny, often has pitch problems and she can't sing up tempo convincingly

I think the best singers left are Jessie, Sam and Jodie so I guess I'd want a final of them. Though I'm not sure about their acting but I suppose they have a few months to sort that out before the show starts.

Out of that three I prefer Sam as Jessie I find rather cocky and Jodie is just naff and extremely irritating

Rachel I feel is just dull and lacking in charisma

Elasticwoman · 12/05/2008 13:16

I like Niamh's voice and think she looks great.

Who is it that (a) dresses the contestants and (b) chooses the songs? I think choice of costume and song have a lot to do with it.

I think Jessie may well be the next to go.

MargaretMountford · 12/05/2008 13:41

TippyChick - what don't you get about my namesake ?

MummyPenguin · 12/05/2008 13:51

I preferred Niamh in the sing off. I really like her though anyway. I sat holding my breath when Andrew was making his decision. Do you know what's occured to me, I wonder if the Olivers picking one Nancy to perform with them is turning out to be something of a curse? Last week it was Sarah they picked, she was in sing off and went out. This week they picked Niamh and she was in sing off.

When Samantha was walking down those stairs at the start of her song, I thought she looked like she'd shit herself. She's beginning to irritate me anyway. That constant beaming. She's not as great as the judges think she is.

Jodie and Niamh my faves. I hope Rachel goes on Saturday. DS (8) was watching the bit on Saturday where you're reminded of their performances, and as each girl was shown he said "oh I like her" "ooh I really like her." "Oh yes I like her too." Then it came to Jessie, he didn't say he liked her and called her 'the weird one'

Zebedeedoodah · 12/05/2008 14:18

Thank God. Ashley's gone. But wasn't her farewell singing straight out of the f* you school? It was VERY agressive. It just proved how wrong she was for the part.

My money's on Niamh to go next week since Ashley actually sung it better, but ALW couldn't take the chance of her not being in another sing-off so had to get rid of her.
